Shaq: Time to give Trump a chance
The Hill ^ | 11/30/16 | Judy Kurtz

Basketball superstar Shaquille O’Neal says Donald Trump won the election “fair and square,” and rather than call for recounts, voters should give the president-elect a chance.

“We have a process that’s been going on forever,” the NBA Hall of Famer told ITK on Wednesday. “And whoever wins, you just hope he does what he says he’s going to do. You know, candidate Trump promised a lot of people a lot of things.

“Now that he’s president-elect, you just hope that he can make the world a better place. He won fair and square. We have to give him a chance,” added O’Neal. “There’s no need talking about recounts and this and that.”

Shaq was always level-headed. He was pummeled regularly on the court but hardly ever got upset. He was like King Kong swatting away attacks. (No racis references implied). And now a rare voice of reason from the NBA crowd re Trump

Thank you Shaq. It shouldn’t take some Sports Star to say what’s right. But some people need to be told, it’s time to stop acting out, crying and breaking furniture, the children are watching.

The fact that he is a serving police officer may have tempered the more radical beliefs of his fellow players. And served to remind Shaq that we are a nation of laws.

“He was pummeled regularly on the court but hardly ever got upset.”

Yes, he was. I’ve watched almost every lakers series since the 80’s and a Heat fan, due to Riley. I don’t know what you’re watching but every time he got a Hack a Shaq he would throw it down. You think he wasn’t upset?

Well I saw many games where they were hanging all over him and he’d just walk to the line.

Haha...Am I the only one who’s noticed that black folk aren’t nearly as upset about the election as white Libs are?

He was hacked because he couldn’t shoot free throws.

I appreciate it when highly visible Blacks talk common sense.

Shaq is well liked, and it will be very hard for folks to dismiss his thoughts as if he’s an Uncle Tom.

Its unfortunate that this sort of reasonableness is actually newsworthy, but there you are.
