Global Temperatures Plunge. Icy Silence from Climate Alarmists
Breitbart ^ | 30 Nov 2016 | James Delingpole

Posted on 11/30/2016 8:58:23 AM PST by detective

Global land temperatures have plummeted by one degree Celsius since the middle of this year – the biggest and steepest fall on record.

But the news has been greeted with an eerie silence by the world’s alarmist community. You’d almost imagine that when temperatures shoot up it’s catastrophic climate change which requires dramatic headlines across the mainstream media and demands for urgent action. But that when they fall even more precipitously it’s just a case of “nothing to see here”.

The cause of the fall is a La Nina event following in the wake of an unusual strong El Nino.

You, on the other hand, are credited as a contributor in at least one of TM’s books. ;-)

They’ll call it a transcription error, or a broken thermometer, or something like that.

I’ve seen a couple of articles in the last couple of years making claims that the high-temperture records in Libya and Death Valley early in the 20th century weren’t really as hot as recorded.

Students of George Orwell, they are.

“I couldn’t live in Colorado, either. Not for the temps, but for the politics and in certain areas, the pollution.”

pollution no longer an issue, but politics turned from very conservative to very liberal when we were flooded with Californians who fouled their nests there and now are doing it here. Libs never learn anything.

“We want to move to extreme north eastern Tennessee, around Johnson City. We WERE looking at Gatlinberg, but that’s in the ashes to ashes category now. Too touristy too. “

Tennessee a beautiful state. Kentucky too.

This is what my favorite climate scientists have to say about all this:

The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growin’ thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
‘Cause London is drowning, and I, I live by the river

Introduce her to Dr. Anthony Watts fantastic site, Wattsupwith that.

It has a wealth of REAL climate scientists, geologists, paleontologists and physicists who are VERY much against the idea of Man-Made Global Warming/Climate Change.

All with regular articles and scientific papers posted daily, and regular commentary, almost like Free Republic for DENIERS (but still scientists)!

Thank you for the suggestion! We’ll check it out this weekend. Scientists of all disciplines are supposed to be skeptical of any and all assertions or theories. The fact that anyone is attempting to squash dissenting analysis is a red BS flag.

How well I know that. 104° here in Texas is humid enough I can’t stay out in it at my age, but in Nevada it was nowhere near as bad, although I didn’t stay through the really hot part of summer. Still, the over 90° days were a walk in the park compared to the same here.

In Louisiana it was the same, and in some places as humid as many places in Florida. Miserable...I grew up in Louisiana and lived there in the 80’s for about 7 or 8 years, just outside Baton Rouge. Not far from the area Trump went this summer with supplies actually, I’ve driven past the Sorrento city limits sign many times. Seeing it underwater was an eye opener...That’s only a couple of miles from where Trump brought his supply truck. Only a few miles from the Mississippi it gets really humid, and in that particular area a couple of bayous too, the Atchafalaya Swamp is only about 20 miles...

Here I’m 100 yards from a very large lake, and the humidity is pretty high too, even in August when the yard is brown it’s still miserable, humidity is not that bad but enough to make the summer weather hard to handle.

Same goes for the cold too, I had a friend who went to Colorado and she gets cold easier than I do, she said she could walk around in just a long sleeve shirt with a foot of snow on the ground. I freeze in 50° weather in Louisiana and here, she did too. I wear a coat when it’s 50...I know people who go around in just a shirt...

Not neccessarily, back in 2004, there was hype about how Warming Would produce an ice age as part of negative feedback. I think the term was thermohaline circulation. Anyways, it is possible that the cooling feedback was just later than expected. In fact, the hype lead to the disaster flick known as “The Day After Tommorrow”.

Actually, three of those books. I didn't find out until well after the last was published and was ever wondering WHY exactly he made the comment: "Welcome to the official government enemies list!"

Yep. Ben has been nailing it. By the end of next week, there are going to be a lot of very unhappy and stunned people. The real mix up is still two years off.

I agree. I think he goes a little overboard sometimes but then again, maybe not. I think this winter will answer a lot of questions.

I thought Denver was one of the most polluted cities in the nation?

“I thought Denver was one of the most polluted cities in the nation? “

Decades ago, but hasn’t been that way for a very long time. Colorado implemented strict emissions requirements and strict mandatory vehicle testing, including the big diesels, for the Denver Metro area, which is where the bulk of vehicle traffic is concentrated and at the same time is also located on the eastern foot of the Rocky Mountains, which is one place where temperature inversions occur.

The rare temperature inversion in the winter will still trap warm air close to the surface upon occasion, but then wood-burning restrictions are enforced during that time.

All in all, pretty clean air now except for the occasional local forest fire or a big forest fire in a western state like California where the smoke is blown east.
