you can count on it.
No, the Democrats are now the anti-white party and by default the make whitey pay for everything party.
They let Pelosi keep her position - no.
Will Warren step down as Senator to run?.?
Democrats are sick with Reality Defiance Disorder.
They simply cannot let go of their theoretical models of socio-political organization, even as those theories fail in spectacular fashion, right before their eyes.
The post-election riots, the vocal defiance of sanctuary city mayors, and the retention of Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader, prove that they’re incapable of analytical brain function, even when their party has been decimated to levels not seen in living memory.
They can’t connect Cause to Effect, so they double down on losing strategies and platforms. More power to them...
“No, the Democrats are now the anti-white party and by default the make whitey pay for everything party.”
They spent so much time and effort instilling racial resentment, and anti-white hate, they cannot move away from that without losing major elements of their base.
They have created their own prison. Only a Trumpian figure on the left can break that mold.
They have to accept that only by breaking up...destroying...their entire coalition can they ever create a new majority.
You cannot prosper when your majority platform is lusting for power, breaking laws, killing babies, celebrating perversity and depraved acts, and pitting groups against each other.
Progressives really like Warren so I don’t think the Democrat primary voters will punish her if she misses some votes in the Senate while running for President. I don’t see her giving up her senate seat.
Nope.
They’ve decided that their base is made up of radical leftist college kids who want everything for free; radical leftist college professors that teach everything should be free; radical leftist environmentalist that preach that the environment cannot be exploited for any reason but don’t know how to fuel the BMWs their parents got them; 3rd world immigrants that are being imported here, solely to boost the voter rolls but have no desire to assimilate into western culture; corporate entities that want the so called “skilled labor” at the cheapest price imaginable; they have loonies like Jill Stein doing the bidding for the party, so the party tries not to look like the morons they really are; uber rich elites, that aren’t affected by the policies they promote, make even more money off said policies, and then double down when they don’t get their way, leading to even more idiotic policies.
I think that about covers it up, but feel free to add some more if I left anything out.
I’m kind of wondering what Bill Gates is going to do when Common Core gets trashed and his operating system for the program isn’t needed. I realize that he’s the richest man on the planet, but he was about to make even more with that.
As long as the CPUSA serves as the steering committee for the Dems, the answer is obviously NO!
There is in that a hardening of position that militates against movement, and so what will be required is a change in leadership to someone younger, more flexible, more articulate, and less imbued with a sense of ineluctable entitlement. That really shouldn't be a hard individual to find, but the finding is only the first step; that individual must have a road to power and a team to back him or her. One of the problems of incumbency is that such teams are pretty much committed to roles in the sitting government, a problem that the Dems are about to be relieved of, to their dismay.
Culture wars and identity politics require an enemy, and that enemy is to be crushed, not brought into the fold. If that enemy is sizable enough, not only do the Dems lose but their coalition falls apart, hatred being the only binding force operative in that sort of coalition.
For instance: Democrats could attempt to declare a culture-war truce, consolidating the gains of the Obama era while disavowing attempts to regulate institutions and communities that dont follow the current social-liberal line. That would mean no more fines for Catholic charities and hospitals, no more transgender-bathroom directives handed down from the White House to local schools, and restraint rather than ruthlessness in future debates over funding and accreditation for conservative religious schools. Without backing away from their support for same-sex marriage and legal abortion, leading Democratic politicians could talk more favorably about moral and religious pluralism, and offer reassurances to people who feel themselves to be dissenters from a very novel cultural regime.
Excellent advice, actually, but that "novel" cultural regime appears to be populated by "not one step back, Comrades!" extremists who view accommodation as surrender. And these have set the rules of political discourse such that they themselves must be crushed and nothing less will do. The term for this is polarization, and it doesn't take two sides to accomplish, nor has it. When an elderly pastor who sets up a Nativity scene on the church front yard is branded a hater, a divider, a racist, and the full power of the State is mustered against him for something he's been doing harmlessly for fifty years, that's a problem, and it isn't his fault.
The totalitarians retain a firm grip on the Democrat party despite the election loss, and so long as this is the case there will be no accommodation.
The demoncrat party is an anti-American crime syndicate.
They have no where to go but prison along with their enablers at the ny slimes.
Yes. When running for office. After elected their views “evolve”
Their current dominant factions will not tolerate any move away from identity politics. It would take an implosion to change.
What we might see over the next few years, is a period of realignment, with neocons and never-trumpers leaving the Republican party and going Dem, and the white working class leaving the Dems to go with Trump.
If you look at the Democratic Party Leadership it is out of touch both with the mass of voters and with their party faithful. The DNC along with the Super Delegates clashed over nomination of President with energized Sanders supporters and put in a “status quo” candidate.
The Democratic Party Leadership is the party of the status quo. Unfortunately for them, they don't realize that the status quo is a death spiral. In less than a decade they have lost control of federal House, Senate, Presidency, majority of State Governors, majority of State House & State Senate positions.
As much as I have problems with the Republican Party, it at least realized that something was different in this election cycle and that “true” outsider/maverick candidates were finalists for the Presidential nomination (Trump & Cruz). The Party leadership with great difficulty came to grips with an outsider (no Jeb Bush, Marc R, etc.) as the candidate. Some Rino’s dragged kicking and screaming as they mounted a never-Trump movement. Also some pure Conservatives didn't trust Trump to advance enough of their agenda to want to vote for him. The National Review in its anti-Trump issue is a fascinating bit of insight into the struggle for control of the GOP.
At least the official GOP Party Leadership after the convention recognized Trump was their candidate and most tried to get behind him and provide support. Still the “decades old” video on Trump and it being turned into mud campaign on Trump being a pervert and womanizer fell short.
A few key points to consider:
1. The Democrats just re-elected the liberal nutbag Nancy Pelosi as Minority Leader in the House.
2. Democrats support Keith Ellison, an ultra-liberal, pro-Islam, racist Muslim for DNC Chair.
3. There are no middle-left/right Democrats to lead them to the right - even a little.
Answer to the author’s rhetorical question: NO
Well, what do Soros & Sons think?
IOW, they had convinced themselves of the popular "emerging Democrat majority" theory.
Heck, they had a lot of conservatives convinced of it, too. Just a few weeks prior to the election, I saw Dennis Miller, on the Bill O'Reilly show, shrug his shoulders in defeat. "The train has left the station, Bill," Miller said. "Our country is gone." I think a lot of us felt the same way.
But this "emerging Democrat majority theory" that predicted a winning coalition --composed of identity/grievance groups (blacks, Hispanics and "gender" types), combined with a generation of their "allies" (i.e. illegal immigrants + millenials who have been brainwashed in our public schools)-- turned out to be wrong ... just like the polls were wrong.
One last comment: Douthat is right about the Left's air of triumphalism. This was extremely off-putting to the forgotten Americans, who correctly perceived the triumphal tone as smug, condescending and dismissive. And who voted for Trump as a result.
We also have better ideas while they produce cupcakes and gender studies majors
