President-elect Trump will hold a second meeting with Mitt Romney this week to discuss the position of secretary of state, much to the chagrin of some in his circle who have said Romney is undeserving of the top diplomatic post.

I agree. DJT will assess the acumen of the available persons and give them the appropriate spots.
I don’t believe he wants to “build bridges” with the GOPe. But, as an executive, he desires to place the right people in the right spot (that is what he has been doing all his life).
If that spot is Mitt Romney [spit] and if Romney “toes the line” then give him the latitude to do so. Otherwise, Mitt might hear, “You’re Fired!”
I think DJT is giving Romney the opportunity to say, “I’ll follow your direction, Mr. President.”
My understanding of the Trump administration is simply, ^results^.
Also, keep in mind that, Mitt, through his father [George, MI-GOV 1963-69] has a real understanding of the heavy-industry ^union^ positions in the upper-Midwest/GreatLakes (steel-workers, UAW, etc.).
If Mittens toes the Trump line, we might see employment increase in the GreatLakes states
Next consideration? Where does SOS fall in the line of POTUS succession?
Not saying that DJT and Pence might be “eliminated”, but, it is a “carrot” that can be extended to Mittens to “stay in the wheelhouse” as SOS.

Of course, but we are his base and he should consider our “input” as well. Trump is ultimately accountable for his decisions as we all are, so yes, its his call on who he wants in the end. I just hope its not Romney. We’ve already seen enough of his duplicity.

This is a thread carried over from yesterday, but Trump is meeting with Romney again today. I am reminded that Mitt Romney did all that he could to give this election to the globalist democrat party rather than support Donald Trump. Romney would have to lie to apologize for his vicious attacks on Trump, because he cannot have changed his position on globalism overnight. If Romney and the other no Trump gang, including former US presidents, had prevailed, we would have lost this Republic. No pro America supreme court justice, open borders, unlimited immigration, etc. and unending etc. Supporters of Donald Trump voted massively for him to make America great again. Romney has shown what he thinks great means. Great globalism and great no more conservative supreme court justices. There is no margin for error in trusting any of the globalists who were willing, and working for, defeat of America First Donald Trump.
It was Trump who personally took the insults, if he still is willing to work with Romney, that is good enough for me.
Romney must provide a major mea culpa and apology and pledge loyalty to the Trump administration and the President.
Its not just about insults. Its more about character. Mitt doesn’t have it.
Putting him as SOS is like exiling him.
