Lived there 25 years. Had a lot of trouble as described.
As I said, there are pockets (mostly south and west side). Could depend on your occupation also. Construction, yeah, I could see it. Northwest is a great place to live.
Yet you say most of what’s said is false. That’s pretty high. Don’t be so sure I am not highly educated with a profession
Hmmm.. let’s see:
1) speaking English without getting yelled at (has never happened to me or anyone I know)
2) Virtually no one hired unless they speak Spanglish. Not true at all.
3) Wal-Mart: Shop there all the time. Never needed to know any Spanish
4) Sanctuary City: not true
San Antonio is heavily Hispanic, yes. But also very heavily Military with a ton of transplants from all over the USA. And I didn’t assume you were low education, just mentioned one field that Spanish (construction) is useful.
2) “Virtually no one hired unless they speak Spanglish. Not true at all.”
Never said that
I have gotten yelled at in San Antonio for not speaking Spanish. Yes I have
Wal mart. Eh. The reference is the shooting at the Vance Jackson store the other day among others in the past. I didn’t make the reference but I got it,
Didn’t say it was a sanctuary city but, as a veteran, I will be thankful that I won’t be pushed around at gen and Costco by patrons and managers who refuse to speak English and who think I am not there
Sorry it was other posters in the thread.
There is some degree of preference depending on where you are and it may get worse post Election...
Thank you!
