Michigan Recount 2016: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
Heavy ^ | November 26, 2016 | Jessica McBride

Posted on 11/26/2016 8:43:03 PM PST by bobsunshine

Michigan – the battleground state with one of the closest margins in the country – appears headed toward a 2016 presidential election recount, although the deadline for requesting one is not until November 30. ...snip...

The Detroit Free Press said the recount “will be a monumental task for the Secretary of State and 83 county clerks around Michigan” and that the state will hand count each ballot if a recount is requested.

Michigan’s recount rules say that a candidate “who believes that the canvass of the votes cast on the office may be incorrect because of possible ‘fraud or mistake’ in the precinct returns may petition for a recount of the votes cast in the precincts involved.”

Michigan charges $125 per precinct for a recount. Opposing candidates can “submit objections to the recount request to the Board of County Canvassers,” Michigan’s recount rules say.

In contrast, Wisconsin does not mandate hand counting of ballots and uses a mixture of electronic machines and paper ballots. Pennsylvania is one of a few states to rely almost exclusively on electronic machines without any paper records.

Since she admits she has no evidence and missed the well known county recount deadlines

The rest of your post is correct, but this statement is slightly wrong. In PA a candidate cannot request a county recount (this has been misstated in several articles.) Only citizens, not candidates, can request at county level.

What do Republicans usually do in a crisis? They GOPEE. Even when they win, they don’t know how to be victorious.

>These people are ....I don’t think words even exist for people like this. Why would hillary even want this kind of win?<

.
Hillary has no honor or pride — she wants to win at ANY cost.

Can they be sued by the WI voters? Like in a class action suit?

Then DJT should come out with 120K new ballots with a 90% to 10% count for Trump.

How can someone with 1% of the vote be considered “aggrieved” in the first place? Doesn’t that term require that she had suffered some harm?

In some states, the candidate for a party must get a certain % of the votes to qualify to be on the ballot in the subsequent election, I believe.

I don’t know what the threshold for that is and whether or not Stien met it.

The reputation of a state’s election officials is based on their getting it right - the first time.

If, in a recount, the numbers are off significantly from the initial count, it calls into question the integrity and competence of those election officials. They will want the recount to mirror the original count as closely as possible to ensure that their reputations remain intact.

Thanks for the correction.

Since you are in Pennsylvania, do you agree that Steins/Clinton’s chances of getting a statewide recount/audit request approved by a judge are next to nil in Pennsylvania?

I guess we could find out as soon as Monday or by mid-week whether their will be any of this recount BS in Pennsylvania (or likely not), since she must go to court this Monday after the election results are certified by the SOS and has no evidence to back up her claims. Hopefully for all of us she wont get her hearing in front of the most corrupt partisan judge in Pennsylvania!!!

You never know what a judge may do. In the case of the Florida Supreme Court, if you recall, when the FL Supremes made their second partisan and highly erroneous ruling, one of the judges who was on-board the first time dissented, saying, in effect "We done been beyotch slapped by the US Supreme Court once already. You really want to look like a bunch of asses yet again?" Apparently, six of them still did.

All I can say is that there is a standard, and if they rule on the law there is no reason for them to grant a recount.

In my experience, they will try just as hard to get it right the second time as they did the first time. As somebody who has personally been involved in the process (and had other members of my immediate family involved in it as well) I can tell you that election officials take the job very seriously, very solemnly, and there are a great many people -- especially lawyers -- looking over their shoulders at all critical times.

If it comes to a recount, Trump and the RNC will have a lawyer/lawyers in every place where the recount is going on.

It gives me a huge pain in the rear when I read cavalier comments by (some) FReepers about how easy it is to manufacture thousands of votes. It's much easier to create fake voters than it is to gin up votes once the process is underway. That's why the registration organizers are usually the ones investigated, not the election officials.

That’s weird. The scroll talks about Castro’s passing on October 19?

Fox was showing video of Hillary on October 19 as part of a Judge Jeanine show on November 25.

Friday November 25 is known as Black Friday! Can you imagine a better day for Fidel, all his life a crusader against capitalism and market economies, to have died?

“And what is the Trump team doing to contest these fraudulent recount requests?”

Do you think Trump appointed a former Federal Elections Commission member as White House Counsel only to sit around and naval gaze?

“Since they admit it doesn’t exist, I expect the MI request to be denied. Ditto for PA.”

Assuming the determination is made by an honest judge or state officer. That’s a lot to assume.

the media , Hillary lied tricked them . >Hillary lied when she conceded. They got Trump to work furiously on “transition” when they were working to flip 3 states MI, WI , PA. They are already recounting MI ,WI . they will mysteriously find enough votes. Democrats are masters at cheating and fraud.

Hillary lied tricked Trump. Soros paid for recounts in MI and WI which now will flip to her with fraud.

Trump has to drop this transition they tricked him into doing by “conceding” and fight this coup.

Trump and his lawyers . Must stop them in PA, last stand

I'm not criticizing anyone i’m just trying to help with strategy and what I see how they duped them . thats’ all y. I'm trying to stop hillary .some of you may see this a criticism and a attack me for no reason .
