Florida Senator Marco Rubio has delivered a statement on Fidel Castro’s death and he did not hold back. Rubio himself is a Cuban American.
Redstate reported: Its still morning, and I am already fuming at the fawning statements are issuing about Fidel Castro in the wake of his death at the age of 90. The man was a dictator and a thug. He was not a revolutionary nor was he a leader. It would be worth it to see him cremated so that families of victims could pee on his ashes.
Thankfully, Marco Rubio is not joining in with the likes of Jesse Jackson and others to praise Castro. He released a statement:
Fidel Castro seized power promising to bring freedom and prosperity to Cuba, but his communist regime turned it into an impoverished island prison. Over six decades, millions of Cubans were forced to flee their own country, and those accused of opposing the regime were routinely jailed and even killed.
Sadly, Fidel Castros death does not mean freedom for the Cuban people or justice for the democratic activists, religious leaders, and political opponents he and his brother have jailed and persecuted. The dictator has died, but the dictatorship has not. And one thing is clear, history will not absolve Fidel Castro; it will remember him as an evil, murderous dictator who inflicted misery and suffering on his own people.

“Americans have become complacent and many are ingrates.”
And too many are just plain stupid and self-absorbed.
Lets hope that if there is ever another WWII that we will have the resolve to win it otherwise it won’t bode well for the US.
I’ve actually seen a post or two over at DU where the poster said that Joe Stalin ruined the image of communism because it’s not like that at all. Talk about useful idiots.
“Lets hope that if there is ever another WWII that we will have the resolve to win it otherwise it wont bode well for the US.”
Right now, we had better hope it isn’t soon, because between the sorry state of our military and it’s equipment and the majority of the $hit people who live in this country today, we’d most likely loose or have a WWII-like scenario where we are forced to pile up losses while we take a couple of years to get our act together ( of we even could). Unfortunately, we don’t live in a WWII environment so all bets may be off.
Paraphrasing...
Insanity: repeating something over and over again and expecting different results.
Would we have the resolve to stick with it while “get our act together?”
Sadly, probably no.
Castro finally did something good for Cuba.
Here’s hoping Raul follows his example soon.
VERY soon.
How old is Raul?
Not sure. Gotta be in his mid to late 80s I would think.
According to Wikipedia, Raul Castro was born June 3, 1931, so he’d be 85.
Ah. So I was right. Maybe I should change my nick to Texipedia.
