President-elect Donald Trump will tap KT McFarland to be his deputy national security adviser, according to Bloomberg News and the New York Times.

McFarland, a former spokeswoman in the Pentagon during the Reagan era, lives in New York and currently serves as a Fox News National Security Analyst. She also served in the Nixon and Ford administrations and was an aide to Dr. Henry Kissinger, according to her Fox News profile.

She also ran for the New York United States Senate seat held by Hillary Clinton in 2006, but was defeated by her Republican rival John Spencer.

Ahem:
working part-time in the White House Situation Room typing the President’s Daily Brief. She spent seven years in the West Wing of the White House, working her way up to become a member of Henry Kissinger’s National Security Council Staff. After the Ford Administration, McFarland studied at Oxford University (B.A, M.A.) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Ph.D. all but dissertation) with concentrations on nuclear weapons, China and the Soviet Union. She served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs under President Ronald Reagan[2] from 1982 to 1985 as spokeswoman and senior speechwriter to Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger.

In 2006 she “worked” for Hillary Clinton by entering the Republican primary for US Senate against John Spencer the former Mayor of Yonkers. Her job was never to win but to drain Spencer of what little money he had to insure he would have no money to run against Clinton. She did her job and Spencer’s campaign never got off the ground. She is a s trustworthy as Mittens.

correct. And I HOPE and trust he did vet the lady.
Guilt by association is a tricky thing and I only raised the issue because of the extreme danger of Kissinger types getting back into control of our government. She may be completely innocent and untainted by her service to Kissinger. I sure hope so, and I have confidence Mr Trump is vetting is selections .... hopefully we will see her demonstrate the antithesis of Kissingerism once she starts doing her new job!!!

Hey dimwitocrats. Another smart woman. Your narrative has more holes than Swiss cheese.

I hope I am wrong, but anyone associated with Kissinger needs EXTREMELY careful vetting, imho.
PS: I do trust that President-elect Trump is doing this...
so I am hoping she proves to be the perfect anti-Kissinger once she starts doing her new job.We do not need GOP-E running the govt anymore, and we certainly do not need any Kissinger types anywhere near it, nowhere within a 1000 miles imho!
We elected Mr. Trump to get the GOP=E and of course the anti-American infiltrator in chief/Soros puppet OUT of WashDC, and to return America to its traditional values insofar as possible. IMHO. Worth what you paid for it, on a good clear day. Thanks..

There is a range of reasonable variation in philosophy in this area. She has a Kissinger view, and DJT wants to hear that as part of the mix

I stand by my opinion and if Kissinger has a rabbi I stand by my opinion doubly.
Kissinger actually tried to withhold necessary ammo from the IDF right in the middle of their fight to repel the Arab invasion. And he undercut Israeli defense and security concerns many additional times while he had influence in WashDC. It took President Nixon and Mr. Haig to over-rule Kissinger. Either not a Jew himself (yes, he came from Jewish heritage but not all kids keep the faith) or else a self-hating Jew in Name Only type (which is what I would guess for him). Having a rabbi is no proof he’s Jewish (and not an atheist or even a Nazi type). There are many rabbis who are also JINOs or anti_Semitic. You can read thousands of posts by hundreds of others right here on FR that try to understand or discuss this regrettable phenomenon. Almost any “Jew” that Obama speaks with appears to fall into this category, not incidentally given his Soros backing. There are Jews who are believers and who try to behave morally...there are Jews who are secular and don’t care, and there are Jews who are anti-Semitic JINO Nazi types. (a parallel spectrum applies within Christendom, too, alas!) IMHO. worth what you paid for it. thanks.

She’s been around forever! I have been very impressed EVERY one of the many times I have heard her speak.

She is well spoken, forthright, knowledgeable, and tough.

Judge Janine and KT could be sisters. Judge Janine being the more flamboyant one.

EXCELLENT pick!

Kissinger, who FLED Nazi Germany because of he and his parents were Jews, doesn’t rate being called a Nazi.

Concur; it's complicated by something he said in the WH which is his fault; however the use of the term with respect to Kissinger is inaccurate and inappropriate.

Kissinger was born Heinz Alfred Kissinger in Fürth, Bavaria, Germany, in 1923 during the Weimar Republic, to a family of German Jews.[8] His father, Louis Kissinger (1887–1982), was a schoolteacher. His mother, Paula (Stern) Kissinger (1901–1998), from Leutershausen, was a homemaker. Kissinger has a younger brother, Walter Kissinger. The surname Kissinger was adopted in 1817 by his great-great-grandfather Meyer Löb, after the Bavarian spa town of Bad Kissingen.[9] As a youth, Heinz enjoyed playing soccer, and even played for the youth wing of his favorite club, SpVgg Fürth, which was one of the nation's best clubs at the time.[10] In 1938, fleeing Nazi persecution, his family moved to London, England, before arriving in New York on September 5.

I cannot remember reading anything as despicable or callous as Henry Kissinger’s observation, captured for posterity on secret White House recordings newly released by the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum, that “The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy. And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern.”

Kissinger, then National Security Adviser, made the odious remarks on March 1, 1973, to President Nixon after Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir had requested American intervention on behalf of Soviet Jewry.

Nixon’s response was no less disconcerting. “I know,” he said. “We can’t blow up the world because of it.”

The Israeli forces attacking a IS shop did not help their cause

Get over your own self already. You can hate Henry all you want but he was good in the day. And no matter what you say he was not a NAZI

Perhaps you mistake him for George

And what is your proof that KT was working for Hillary? Or that fact that she ran, apparently against the person you favored in the primary, proof enough that KT was merely Hillary’s tool to defeat him?

You desperately need to read more about that period of time. The geopolitics were dicey at best. The alliances in the Middle East were fluid at best

You have a hate on with confused facts

But hey have at it

She’s a guest on Lou Dobbs quite frequently. I always enjoy listening to her. Very intelligent. She’s been on the Trump train.
