My son's great and good friend is at school here in Haifa and has been evacuated. Evidently arson in town and the arsonists burned the fire stations to cause more damage.

Israel on fire: Systematic arson suspected in 'half of fires'

Police say they are not ruling out nationalistic backgrounds in suspected cases of arson.
Dry winds have fanned the flames of a wave of wildfires raging in Israel since Wednesday, half of which are suspected to have been caused by systematic arson, according to Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan.
Firefighting efforts on Thursday were concentrated in the northern coastal city of Haifa, where at least three fires burning in the center of the city forced the evacuation of the local University and hundreds of residents.
Some 220 fires have broken out throughout central and northern Israel since Wednesday, starting with a blaze in the Jerusalem-adjacent community of Neve Shalom. Since then, fires have ignited in areas surrounding Beit Shemesh, Mod'in, and Jerusalem, as well as in Haifa, Hadera, Zichron Yaakov, Umm al-Fachm, Lachish, Nesher, the Etzion settlement bloc, and outside the northern town of Kfar Vradim.
Early assessments by police have strengthened suspicions that some of the fires have been caused by arson, in some cases, with suspected nationalistic backgrounds.
Erdan and Police Chief Ronnie Alshich have moved to boost security as deterrence to potential arsonists, ordering hundreds of police officers and soldiers to open spaces near villages and towns along the West Bank green line.
The fires have forced the evacuation of thousands of Israelis from their homes throughout the country as flames encroached on residential areas, major roadways, and vital infrastructure, including installations of the Israel Electric Company.
A total of 21 people across the country have been treated for smoke inhalation, a spokesperson for Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical services said Wednesday.
Some 205 Israeli fire fighters that have been working over the past 36 hours to extinguish flames in what is being described as the "largest firefighting operation since the Carmel Disaster."
The Carmel disaster in 2010, the deadliest fire in Israeli history and claiming 44 lives, started on Mount Carmel, located just south of Haifa, burnt 50 square kilometers (12,000 acres) and destroyed 74 buildings.
Israel has also accepted offers of assistance from Russia and Turkey. A total of ten firefighting planes, each able to carry at least ten tons of flame retardant, are expected to arrive in Israel on Thursday from Croatia, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Russia, and Turkey.

Earlier this morning, another fire in an open area quickly engulfed nearby warehouses, fed by strong winds and dry brush.
