If I remember correctly we have the space program to thank for Corningware and similar kitchen cookware developed from shielding from the nose cones of rockets. Also I believe that teflon came from space research. I am sure there are many others. As a cook I love my Corningware, thank you space program.

That’s some pretty expensive cook ware by that standard.

But really, corningware was here 20 years before the first rocket took flight. Teflon, at least 10 years before.
