Liberals’ California dream of secession will end up a nightmare

While Democrats nationwide are licking their wounds and trying to regroup, California liberals are pissed and want nothing to do with the rest of the country.

So NOW they’re all about states’ rights.

The lib-prog Californians are really spoiled. For decades the saying was “how California goes; so does the rest of the nation” and there was some truth to that but that has been over with for at least a decade now. They don’t like being irrelevant in the election process; especially when they have a whopping 55 votes. Its rare for the election of a Prez to come down to what CA does. The lib-progs just can’t get past the fact that they may have won the popular vote but not the electoral vote. They don’t believe in states rights anyway so this is just one more reason.

I read that maybe 5 or 6 electors may go against the wishes of the people in their state. I hope they think it through because they will have to leave those states. No way will they be able to live among the people they back stabbed.

They’re reaching for straws. No way will they secede but they may break up into 4 or 5 smaller states. I think that should have happened long ago so they are behind the times now. L.A. County and SF County could be two of those states then split it in half to be North and South California just like North and South Carolina or Dakota. A section at the top of the state (is that Jefferson County?) could be the 5th new state for a total of 54. Make Puerto Rico a state and we could have a double nickel of 55.

Then we can watch CA implode and use it as the poster child of failed democratic policies.

It will be the final nail in the coffin for the liberal/democratic ideology.

I just hope my daughter has the whrewithal to get out if that happens.

The rest of the state used to be sane. Now it’s overrun with illegals and gangs.

We fled in 2015—best thing we ever did.

Let them go. They can have their own flag and coinage. Just don’t look to us for money.

They’ll bankrupt themselves in a year or less.

Splitting California East/West does best express the
political divide. We residing in the eastern portion
will be known as the State of California. The new
country formed in the western portion can call
themselves North Mexico or Libtopia or whatever comes
into their empty heads. Yes, we will accept refugees
and allow for emigrants. And, yes, we will provide
them water.....at a reasonable price.

Only the coastal counties are far left.

California needs to be partitioned into 4 states - Northern California, South California, Coastal California and East California. Those together with an East Washington and Oregon along with an East and South Colorado will really give Obama his 57 states.

And if they secede, we will need to build another wall to keep them out when they discover thy cannot support themselves without billions upon billions of “free money”....

When I was in Mexico the most watched cable channel was just cameras set up on each gate into the US. Predicted wait times were automatically posted for that gate. The channel tracked the deployment of drug teams under the guise of avoiding delays. “Gate xx is seeing increased drug enforcement check. Suggest using gates ab and yy.”

Hey California secede, please but don’t ask for money from the USA. You can have our UN seat... California conservatives, break away to form Jefferson.

It will turn out just like Quebec in the 70’s. They’ll quickly figure out that independence is an economic non-starter.

Snarkiness is uncalled for. I wasn’t being flippant, no need for you to be that way.

Discourse in the FR forum would be a lot more pleasant *and* productive if folks used the same standard of courtesy that they use in face to face conversation.

Anonymity relieves no one of the responsibility of common courtesy.

It will be with millions of American’s blessings should Kalifornica leave. I certainly hope they take Hollywood with them since many who live their have promised to leave but have never fulfilled the promises. Good riddance!

If secession was legal, Texas would have left the USA long ago.

Perfectly grand idea. I wonder how long it will take for the cartels to split it up?

For the good of everyone, CA needs to leave.

They are always talking about the greatest good for the greatest number, right?
