CNN political commentator Angela Rye called for reparations during a heated discussion with Donald Trump supporter Carl Higbie on air Tuesday afternoon.

Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and conservative pundit, started by commenting on how New York City’s skyline represents Donald Trump’s accomplishments and how every other American wants to achieve the same thing. He added that the Democratic Party wants to keep Americans dependent on the government.
Rye, the former executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus, became visibly angry at Higbie’s statement.

i noticed that the “mixed” ones are all screwed up....full of hate. This one really bobbs that head around....so annoying.
Already paid reparations. It’s called AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
The argument against mixed race marriages, used to be that it would mess up the children. When I was young, I didn't understand that at all and thought that that was a ridiculous argument. Oh how VERY wrong I was. And we now see the fruits of that argument come to fruition.

Well, if we calculate that they are actually due the 40 acres and a mule they were promised, then the 4 million slaves in 1863 were due 160 million acres plus mules. If we divide that number amongst the 43 million current black population, they are each due less than 4 acres and 1/10th of a mule (call that another $100).
Four acres of unimproved farmland is worth about $5,000. If we subtract the welfare paid out to blacks over the past 50 years, they would definitely owe. Even if we subtracted just the value of affirmative action or race based financial aid to college students, I suspect they would owe.
The irony is that none of these descendants would even exist today without slavery. If there had been no slave trade, the rival tribes who captured their ancestors would have simply killed them. No ancestor, no descendants.
Yes, by all means - pay reparations to every Black person who was forcibly brought here from Africa as a slave, and ONLY to them, not to Black scammers and con artists with their greedy and dishonest hands out looking for an easy payday courtesy of Whites.
And she looks like she only deserves a 3/8 share of reparations at best.

They seem to have accepted that they are so inferior to every other race that they could never compete in a modern economy/system. Their racist violence bears that out; they live without hope.
Cash reparations are a diversion to protect the real reparations doled out today: affirmative action. It is legally indefensible, yet allowed to continue.
The simple fact is that if my children are to expect punishment in terms of access to higher education, jobs, and promotions, they’ll quickly realize they are much better off if the recipients of preferential treatment weren’t here anymore.
That simply requires the US Federal government to help enforce any laws requiring servitude which any of the states that created the United States may have enacted. The moral responsibility for those laws rests entirely with the states which enacted them. At most, that clause in the Constitution would justify reparations to those who actually were returned to their servitude by operation of that clause.
Failing to prohibit creates absolutely no moral obligation whatsoever. For the same reason the government has no moral obligation for failing to prevent anything for which one person may sue someone else. Guilt only ever rests with those who actually do evil, never with those who simply fail to prevent it.
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.
And that creates and supports no slavery whatsoever. It establishes the same justification for reparations to the descendants of slaves that it establishes for "Indians not taxed": Absolutely zero.
There is no right to vote, and no right to be represented in Congress. That's why the citizens of China could not successfully sue over not being allowed to vote in US elections, nor over having no Congressional seats are awarded to China, for example. Voting and representatives in a legislature are privileges which can be either granted or denied as the state sees fit, without creating any cause for reparations.
In fact, the "three fifths" clause helps act against any justification for reparations, since it denies political power to those States which had slaves by denying those States (but not their Slaves, who had no voting rights) additional seats in Congress.
Now you know that doesn’t count.
