HILLARY AND DONALD - HEY LOSER... SAY GOODBYE TO THE SECRET SERVICE
TMZ ^ | 11/08/16

Posted on 11/22/2016 8:28:05 AM PST by Libloather

It's expensive as hell to protect presidential candidates like Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump... which explains why the Secret Service drops the loser FAST... but maybe not as fast as you think.

The federal government shells out about $40k PER DAY to protect Hillary -- code name "Evergreen" -- and Donald -- code name "Mogul." The cost of protecting candidates in 2012 reportedly approached $113 million.

There's no hard-and-fast rule on when the Secret Service stops protecting the loser. It's done on a case-by-case ... but typically, agents say sayonara to the loser about a week after the election. The asterisk in this case is Hillary -- as a former First Lady she gets lifetime protection, anyway.

As opposed to, IIRC, the Clintons charging them rent.

The Secret Service pays rent to the Clintons and both Bush's. They paid rent to Ronald Reagan and will pay rent to the Obamas. It's the policy of the agency to pay for space on the property used by the Secret Service. They determine how much they will pay, not the former presidents. It's just the way things are.

her secret service protection is a lifetime thing, unfortunately for us, the taxpayers.

Unfortunately also for the agents who draw this unhappy detail.

Wasn’t Bush the first one without lifetime secret service protection?

Yes but it was changed back to lifetime protection in 2013 so Dubya never was without a Secret Service detail.

I am so looking forward to that inauguration. I can’t wait to see who shows up. I still remember Carter at Reagan’s inauguration looking like he had swallowed a lemon wrapped in a turd.

When the dust dies down this ought to be revisited. I object to paying for SS protection to ex Presidents and their family for life! They can afford their own protection.......PERIOD! I just hope someone brings this back up in the near future and it gets done!

Stupid article. Both will continue to have Secret Service protection, Trump because he’s president, Hillary because Bill’s an ex-president. And hopefully soon she’ll be in a nice safe cell with lots of guards around.

Here’s the real kick in the teeth.

If TSHTF, they’ll ALL be cozy, underground, living like kings while we serfs will be dying, above.

The ones who caused the destruction will be saved from it.

This really grates on me.

I’d have preferred “Conan” but Mogul will do.

She is the wife (for now) of an ex-president. The Secret Service will continue to protect them.

True, but wonder if we taxpayers have already paid for installation of enhanced security + communications facilities, etc, on Clinton's property ... on the assumption it was a sure-thing she would become president.

If so, wonder when those installations will be removed from her mansions in both Chappaqua and D.C.?

Also wonder if the Secret Service has been paying "rent" to Hillary for their lodgings on her property? Joe Biden has been paid rent by the SS, courtesy of the US taxpayer, for eight years. Time for this practice to stop.

SS Protection for former Prez & spouse had been ordered to cease after 10 years. Obama’s EO changed the policy back to life time.

Trump could change it back again.

But in the real Zombie world, only the strong survive.

They won’t be among them when they eventually have to come out when their low-bidder bunkers fail. It’s the Universal Zombie axiom....:0)

I wonder if this is how the Obamas are affording all that real estate. With rent payments from the USSS.

This happened because Obama couldn’t protect himself with lifetime protection unless he tied it to terror and 2001 ...... Thus, he had cover Bush, too. I clearly remember this.

Obama’s EO changed the policy back to life time.

Now I really wonder if that's how Barry is paying for the properties.

... as long as they stay married ...

IMHO, staying married cost her the presidency. Good luck for everyone else, bad luck for Herself.
