Given we are so close in the Senate, I would not be shocked if the Rats get a GOP Senator to switch parties.
Is the GOP smart enough to vote for nuclear option? I have little faith that they have the balls to do it. Maybe President Trump can wake them up.
Mitch will have to grow a pair
I have been thinking my Flaky Senator from AZ will switch since he was a very vocal "Never Trumper". That would put Schumer just one switch away from Majority Leader, or the GOPee could do like they did back in 2001 - remember this?
The Democratic Party controlled the 107th Congress from January 3 to January 20, 2001 (50/50 tie with Vice President Gore as the deciding vote) and from May 24, 2001 to January 3, 2003 (after Senator Jim Jeffords left the Republican Party to become an Independent and caucus with the DemocRATS).

GOP Senators hint at nuclear option if Dems block Supreme Court appointment The late "Unwept, unhonour'd, and unsung" GOPe might begin finally to get the message, that they are ridiculously irrelevant.
But my main message is this : Let reality prevail; time to toss the mythical" moron party nuclear option" permanently into the dust bin of history. It takes the party of dunces to trigger it, and the ineffectual GOPe to enable them.
Let the government shutdown begin. I'll manage to survive. I've managed worse...
From the plunge of the Markets when Obama was nominated, to the following 8 years of total ineptitude from the Kenyan's "leadership," TOTAL FAIL.
That 20% reduction in the bloated Federal bureaucracy already feels so good! And I hope the GOPe and other moron legislators have their salary and all other expenses withheld for the duration of the "firecracker" option.
Bring it on!

All Democrat power is concentrated in the media, which amplifies what Democrats and communists believe.

The Republican’s should change the filibuster to work as it was intended. The dems can block a vote for only as long as they hold the floor.

Cruz would make a great Senate majority leader though I don’t think he could get the votes.

It would only take two or three Republicans to vote against the rule change. I can think of more than that who arent likely to vote for the change. Is there a Freeper knowledgeable and wise enough to compile a list of the WORST remaining members of the GOPe, which must be removed "stat?" It is never too soon to start contributing funding and action to "out" them. Hammer on their tiny skulls 24/7.
Phone calls, emails, social media, the whole enchilada. I may be forced (reluctantly) temporarily to become a twit and FaceLess for the duration.
Unfortunately, California has no such animal in Federal service, and those are the only ones that qualify.

Well said but don’t forget Juan McCain can always be counted on to stand up for his Democrat Senate friends. Look for him to revive the Gang of 8 and block Trump’s nominees!!

Hope you’re right but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Give Mitch credit he did not fold with the Garland nomination

Why threaten nuclear option to change rules after the new Senate when all they have to do is adopt new rules when the new Senate comes in? Stupid.

I thought that the nuclear option couldn’t be used for Supreme Court nominations?

You’re right. I can think of two immediately; McCain and Graham. They’re always up to no good.

Shhhh... I have been saying for months that Trump will be quietly twisting arms to get us where we need to be.Well, if, one day, President-elect Trump has a PARTICULARLY specious smile/grin on his face, we'll know that he, er, "took steps."

Given we are so close in the Senate, I would not be shocked if the Rats get a GOP Senator to switch parties. You got it backwards, Joe Manchin from WV will most likely flip, no body switches to the losing side.
