After all, these were the rule changes the Democrats demanded for the last several years.

Start warming up the B-52s.

Thermo-nuclear war with the dimskies.

Trump is very likely taking note of everything the dem (and some pub) senators and congresscritters are saying, so that he can use all if it in his “negotiations” with them. Dems especially, though, are absolutely incapable of keeping anything close to the vest. They’re very much like children in that regard.

Given we are so close in the Senate, I would not be shocked if the Rats get a GOP Senator to switch parties.

The filibuster is/was more than a rule. It was a philosophy that a simple majority should not enforce their beliefs on the minority. It was a principle behind senate actions/inactions.

Reid tried to frame his “rule change” as a minor adjustment to process in a narrow class of senate voting to allow the government to function. But the fact is he said the philosophy behind the filibuster is no long a governing principle of the senate. Ds can complain all they want about “rules” but they have given up on the philosophy and we all know they will abandon the filibuster when they are a majority again and have a reason.

McCain, Graham, and Murkowski are likely candidates for a switch to the dark side. Maybe Rubio as well.

Donald Trump is going to turn a bunch of these infants into teenagers at least, if not into real men.

“Democrats are the most fun to watch when they are completely deprived of power.”

Yeah, they plead for “decency and comity” when they are “Trapped RATs!” Funny thing is, they never return the favor! Pi$$ on all of them, and pi$$ on any RINO who stands with them!

"close to the vest"?? YESSSSS, that is the PERFECT phrase.

You are correct about the Democrats. They had so much pull that their arrogance got the better of them. Boo-hoo, wah!

No one who voted for Trump did so hoping he would play nice. He will be solely judged on his results.

Republicans are vowing that President Trump’s appointment of a Supreme Court Justice to replace the late Justice Scalia will be confirmed no matter what Democrats do.

That sounds like more than a “hint”.

The filibuster has no basis in constitutional law, and it should be dismissed entirely in light of how pathetic its use had become by REPUBLICANS in recent years.

What's the point of having a filibuster if you have GOP senators who would vote to break a filibuster and let a bill onto the floor, then vote against the bill for the sole purpose of political pandering?

If the filibuster rule was really based on the philosophy that a simple majority should not enforce their beliefs on the majority, then there should be no such thing as a 52-48 vote (for example) in the Senate on any bill.

“Given we are so close in the Senate, I would not be shocked if the Rats get a GOP Senator to switch parties.”

On the flip side of that coin, Manchin is already making noises of becoming a Republican. And since WV is virtually all Republican, he’s likely to do it just to retain some small bit of power.

“... McCain, Graham, and Flake ...”
*******************************************************
FLake will be VERY vulnerable to a successful primary challenge in 2018. He can be removed along with a healthy number of ‘RATS up for reelection to the Senate.

John McCain and Lindsey Graham will fight any effort to appoint Trump’s nominee.

Time for the filibuster to go away.

Make them all take an up-or-down vote on everything.
Let the voters judge. Let the chips fall where they may.

Remove the safety net that allows one to vote for a Democrat.
