Worst Democrat Blowout in 88 Years!
Vanity | 11/21/2016 | Self

Posted on 11/21/2016 6:16:39 AM PST by CptnObvious

According to the Internet, the last time the Republicans had the Presidency and both houses of congress was 1928. That's 88 years ago!

In 2010 President Obama called it a "Shellacking" when he lost the US House. When he lost the US Senate on top of that in 2014 the press said he was unrepentant.

Now Obama and the Democrats have lost all three plus lost control in more state legislatures and governorships than in a long time.

In short, the Democrats had a Blowout and the Question is whether they will learn from it and turn from the hard leftist path they have been on with Obama.

So far, it doesn't look like it.

No wonder we have become so sick as a society. For 3 generations we have gone without a particular form of governance and it is particularly evident.

Did I misread you? You said you voted for Obama Twice?

Trace the comments back and you will see I was talking about W. Sorry, but I even said what W got us was 8 years of Obama.

Then did you not noticed my original question to you? I asked if you voted for Obama...twice.

Wasn’t it obvious at that point that it was not clear what you meant?

Your “Question” to me was:

“You’ve been a Freeper since 1998 and you voted for Obama? Twice?

Slow learner, I guess...”

The ‘Slow Learner comment told me what you were asking was a foregone conclusion and not a real question....

BTW, it would have been clear if you traced it back or read the entire thread.

Didn’t 43 have both Senate and House?
Yes but no one could tell thanks to Karl Rove and his/their "new tone".

There was a time when easily verified facts put a quick end to FR posts containing misinformation from the MSM and bloggers almost as ignorant as MSM ‘fact-checking’.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. I voted for him twice also. In addition to that,I voted for McCain and Romney too. Actually, I voted against obama but that was what it amounted to.

While we have The White House AND both houses of Congress WE NEED TO PUSH THROUGH ANTI VOTER- FRAUD LAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely needs to be the very highest priority!

I voted for Bush two times and against obama two times. It does not seem like it has been 16 years.

Same here. I hope I never have to see or hear of Obama or Hillary ever again. Or from the Bushs for that matter.

I believe that during W’s term(s) there was a period where HE had the House and the Senate and the martha-farging bastiges did nothing with it.

...

Yep. The people spoke loud and clear, but W and the rest of the Uniparty ignored them. The crooks in politics and business were like kids running around in a candy store.

W had a terrible record with vetoes, too.

Oh the short memories of people online. But then again that assumes whether or not George W. Bush can be considered a Republican. The Bush’s are about as Republican as General Benedict Arnold can be considered an American Patriot. There were 4 different time periods where this was true for them during the Dubya years.

1 & 2. For two periods of time in the 107th Congress the GOP had the White House and control of both houses of Congress. On Jan 20, 2001 Bush43 won and the GOP had control of both houses of Congress. The Senate was just 50-50 so when Daschle got Jeffords to switch that summer the Dem’s became the majority party in the Senate until the November 2002 election results were certified in Missouri. That’s when Jean Carnahan, a Dem, had to give up her seat to Sen-elect Jim Talent since she was an appointee to take the place of her late husband.

3. The 108th Congress opened with the GOP having majorities in both houses - 51-49 in the Senate; 229-206 in the House. Their majority held throughout the entire 2 years. Dubya was president this entire time.

4. The 109th Congress opened with the GOP having majorities in both houses - 55-45 in the Senate and 232-193 in the House. Their majority held throughout the entire 2 years. Dubya was president this entire time.

The 2006 elections brought about the end of the GOP controlling the White House and both houses of Congress at the same time, until Jan 20, 2017.

From 2003 to 2007 the Republicans held the White House, Senate and House.

From 2001 to 2003 the Republicans held the White House and the House. The Senate was split 50-50 but the Republicans held the tie breaker.
