We Must Push Back Against the Borkers of Bannon
American Thinker ^ | November 21, 2016 | Christopher Chantrill

Last week the left tried to Bork Steve Bannon, a key Trump campaign aide and proposed “chief White House strategist and senior counselor” and until August executive chairman of Breitbart News, by linking him to the alt-right. The Trumpist response to the attack was haul out Breitbart journalists and others to deny that Bannon and Breitbart had anything to do with the alt-right. Then the NeverTrumpers got into the act to say that while Bannon was innocent of the charges there was no doubt that Breitbart was playing with fire where the alt-right was concerned.

I think that the Trump people should have taken the opportunity to change the narrative. It should have turned the story back onto the left. If the alt-right is beyond the fringe, then what about the left? Is the racist La Raza beyond the respectable left fringe? Or racist Black Lives Matter? Or the racist Nation of Islam? Or radical MoveOn.org? Or socialist ANSWER? Somehow there doesn’t seem to be any group on the left that embarrasses the mainstream left.

And what about the left protesting the results of a presidential election? How fringe and extremist is that?

Moreover, the Trumpists should say, only we have the key that keeps the alt-right in its cage, because we have built a populist electoral coalition that is, for now, willing to be patient while a President Trump makes America great again. So the alt-right is marginalized, for now.

The liberals are so fixated on appearance, Hollywood, MSM. I know how Bannon can fix his image and they will shut up:
<>
It’s this simple. Its his appearance. If they guy exercise, lose a few pounds, tone up, and get his hair styled they will shut up. I’ve been watching the libs for years now. If he does this he will look more like a celebrity and they will look at him differently. Yes I know it’s superficial but that’s just the way they are. He has nothing to lose but weight...:)

We must push back against the definition of alt-right, a leftist coined term for any right winger who is not GOPe. The association with White supremacy is another way to delegitimize all/any opposition to illegal immigration, Islam/terror, homosexual marriage.

It is the American-Right or Free-RIght vs. the Control-Left.

Alt-right is deplorables for younger people. They also wear it as a badge.

And we all want to hit ctrl-alt-del on obama’s policies.

Which is why Trump’s strategy in the next two years is so important. The libtards need to be hit with a Tsunami. Everything at once. Overwhelm their ability to use Alinsky tactics of marginalized, isolate, destroy. Do everything AT ONCE. Repeal Obamacare, repeal the 1934 NFA and 1968 GCA, tax reform, prosecute Hillary, EVERYTHING.

Bannon can’t be “Borked”. He isn’t subject to Congressional approval.

Agreed. The best defense is a good offense. The way to combat TDS (pronounced “tedious”) is to turn the tables and point out the racist roots of the Left.

I had the same thought. Let Bannon be Bannon. It will drive the libs crazy that his advice to Trump will be sound and well within the mainstream of conservative thought.

My concern is that Sessions might get Borked, even with a Republican majority.

True that.

Bannon doesn't seem to say much publicly. Don't know exactly what he does, but didn't the whole Anthony Weiner underage sexting fiasco begin after a Trump staffer was attacked by the Dems?

I betting you are correct about that and decided to track down the origins of the term alt-right just for drill. Here is what I found along the way:

From Slate (of all places) I found this:

"Alternative right was perhaps first used as the title of a speech given by the intellectual historian Paul Gottfried at an annual meeting of the far-right H.L. Mencken Club in 2008. The speech was published in Taki’s Magazine, or Takimag for short"

That's not quite alt-right but it could be where it started. If you want to read the Gottfried speech you can find it HERE.

I'm not vouching for any of this but it is an interesting subject and worth a little research by Freepers. So it is a resonable starting point for anyone trying to sort it out.

No, he’s not subject to confirmation. They sure are worked up over nothing they can control. I keep going back to 2009 and one of the few Zero statements I agree with “elections have consequences...”.

Get over it snowflakes. There can be no appeasement of these people, so don’t bother trying. They certainly would not have cared about appeasement had they won. That has been shown time and again.
