Vice President-elect Mike Pence confirmed Sunday that Mitt Romney is in the running to be Donald Trump's secretary of state.

'I can say that Governor Romney is under active and serious consideration to serve as secretary of state of the United States,' Pence told CBS News' John Dickerson on 'Face the Nation' Sunday.

President-elect Donald Trump and Romney, the GOP's 2012 nominee, seemed to bury the hatchet at a meeting yesterday in New Jersey, after Romney called Trump a 'fraud' and a 'phony' during the Republican primary this spring and Trump had referred to Romney as a loser and a 'choker.'

Pence said Trump was 'very grateful' that Romney came to Saturday's meeting.

'We spent the better part of an hour together with him,' he said. 'And then I know that the two of them actually had some private time together.'

'I would tell you that it was not only a cordial meeting, but also it was a very substantive meeting,' Pence revealed....

Trump said: “Don’t believe anything you hear about any of my Cabinet picks until you hear it directly from my lips.”

So, I won’t.

I don’t like this, either.
But, there is something of Sun Tzu in President elect Trump.

Just love Pence as his vp pick and as an elegant spokesperson.

You are so right. Pence comes across as a statesman, and a very elegant one at that.

Simply make Romney head of the VA and see how quickly Romney turns that program around.

Trump should re-watch the slanderous tirade Romney went on this spring. I will not forget it, and neither should he.

Maybe he needs someone for Secretary of State who is also rich enough not to want bribes, to get past Hellary’s corrupt tenure.

Obama made the Dems and their base think they could push for the hardest left policies and succeed, because he was the most radically left President ever. They didn’t realize the swing voters were just voting for him because he “seemed nice,” not because they liked his policies. Put those policies on a less likable candidate and they only lose votes except in the bluest cesspools of America.
