Bedminster is a pretty affluent place.

Just a few miles west of Bedminster there are several N J counties that went strongly for Trump. Half of New Jersy's counties went for Trump, though they are the less populated one.

The last time I visited a PC-USA church, the preacher started spewing his hatred of Israel in the middle of the sermon.

I am from South Jersey and still have family that lives there. There are plenty of Republicans in the southern part of the state, but they are outnumbered by those to the north.

There are many. All the little towns near me in NJ have a pretty white church like the one in Bedminster. Once thought about a photo series of each one. Bucket list item.

NJ is really a miniature USA. Once you get away from the Newark, Trenton, Camden ghettos it’s really much like every other small town oriented state.

Yeah. I guess that was a cheap shot. Coming from a Californian, no less.

My apologies to my fine, feathered FRiends in New Jersey.

It’s a beautiful church. Built in the 1700’s. Right outside of Trump National. Perhaps George Washington went there too..

There are churches in New Jersey???

Yes.

Quite a few.

Because of the price of land and building in some places they have "church sharing" where you have a service with one group starting at 7:00 am and proceeding in two hour blocks through out the day.

Probably not the case here.

Once you get away from the ... ghettos it’s really much like every other small town oriented state.

And with the phasing out of the estate tax, it might persuade more of the producing class to stay put.

Why do you think it has the fourth lowest divorce rate? Catholics and evangelicals. A Puritan settlement in the 1600s.

According to this article NJ has the lowest rate of divorce in the nation. NY is #2.

Go figure.

Has to do more with the high cost of living than with any affection for marriage. I speak from experience.

That doesn't surprise me. Even though it's a very liberal state, it's been dominated by old-school Protestants and ethnic minorities who still have long histories of family-centric values.

In my circle of co-workers, clients and business associates, I'd estimate that no more than 5% of them have been divorced ... and the 5% that I am aware of all live outside of New Jersey.

Like you said ... Go figure. LOL.
