Byron York: Attorney General Jeff Sessions is Democrats' nightmare
Washington Examiner ^ | Nov. 20, 2016 | Byron York

Posted on 11/20/2016 5:54:32 AM PST by libstripper

President-elect Trump's transition team knew that nominating Jeff Sessions for Attorney General would set off controversy. Democrats and their allies in the press have at key times in the past called Sessions a racist — they're now using the Alabama senator's full name, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, to heighten the Old South effect — and now, as they oppose Trump at nearly every turn, they've turned to race again.

Here's why the effort to stop Sessions is likely to intensify as his confirmation hearings near. Sessions is the Senate's highest-profile, most determined, and most knowledgeable opponent of comprehensive immigration reform. Democrats are particularly anxious about immigration because of the unusually tenuous nature of President Obama's policies on the issue. Those policies can be undone unilaterally, by the new president in some cases, and by the attorney general and head of homeland security in other cases. There's no need for congressional action — and no way for House or Senate Democrats to slow or stop it.

“The Center for Immigration Studies has published a list of 79 Obama policies the new administration could change without any action by Congress.”

But Obama and his minions in the LSM/Google/Yahoo/FaceBook/Twitter, etc, are trying to eliminate any ‘fake news sources’, i.e., all ‘Conservative news sources’. This election has taught the masses that the LSM is really Democrat News and manipulation of it. Drain the Swamp and include all the Media sources that are corrupt!

In sum: Sessions will enforce existing federal laws:

8 USC1373-prohibits communities from non-cooperation with federal authorities on immigration enforcement

8 USC1324- prohibits shielding illegal aliens from detection

He would drop federal lawsuits against states attempting to stem illegal immigration (AZ SB1070)

He or Trump will end 79 policies of Obama admin that interfere with existing law enforcement

“And remember: George W. Bush refused to enforce U.S. immigration laws, in violation of his responsibility and Oath of Office to do so. This should be brought out and made clear, and he should be held accountable even if only by the exposure of it.”

And to help keep any others in the Bush Clan/Dynasty OUT of the White House!

I would have figured that they’d not like him because Sessions might actually pursue Democrats for wrong doing.

The DNC alone should be hammered hard over collusion with the PACs.

Yes and we need the Senate to invoke Former Sen. Harry Reid’s law to go nuclear in the Senate to get all of Trump’s cabinet passed.

including Obama's eligibility to serve as President.

I have been expecting this as a strong possibility.

Trump was an early birther, but came up against a vast left-wing conspiracy.

Throw in a clean up in the voter fraud and democrats are done with.

Yours is a very good well thought out and comprehensive reply. I would only add to it that whatever motivated George Bush, it is clear from the Kennedy act of the 1960s right on through every Democrat administration since that the motivation behind the open border movement is to transform the demographic so that Marxism becomes the electoral destiny of the nation.

Of course, the left conceals its true motivation with self-righteous proclamations concerning race, all in keeping I might add with Nathan Bedford's first maxim of American politics: all politics in America is not local but ultimately a racial. A sanctuary state can easily issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens and these drivers licenses can be used as documentation permitting illegals to vote en masse . Efforts to legally curb illegal voting are decried as racist, also in keeping with Nathan's maxim. If this blatant undermining of our body politic is not stopped, indeed undone, we conservatives will find ourselves reduced to a rump collection of Southern states and impotent to halt the march towards Marxism.

We must concede the inevitable and assume that the Democrats will regain national power and they will immediately revert to an open border administration unless structural reform is put in place that cannot be reversed by executive order. But we have seen to our dismay that a lawless president with a pen and a phone can simply decline to enforce existing law or even issue executive orders requiring action repugnant to enacted law.

Hence, in the long run structural reform, that is constitutional reform, is indispensable to any hope of the Constitution itself surviving. That means that Article V must be resorted to for real and permanent reform.

Dems and media and some GOPestablishment are going to find any number of selectees to gripe about. It is politics. That is what they do. Whether it be judges or ambassadors or Cabinet or department heads, every one is a potential and many are probable controversials.

Yes. Voter fraud clean-up is paramount. Those who have committed voter fraud and those who are complicit in it—whoever they may be—must be discovered, exposed, and prosecuted. Steps must be taken, including severe penalties, to prevent its ever happening again. The Trump Supreme Court will sanction picture identification for voting—long overdue.

the entire Obama Administration, including Obama's eligibility to serve as President

That is something I have wondered about. If Trump has the FBI's forensic teams investigate that photoshopped phony birth certificate Obama produced, and is able to write an airtight report documenting that it is fake, then that would be a bombshell that would expose the attempt by the left to take over the US by fraud, and make average Americans open their eyes just a little bit more.
