Mitt Romney emerged Saturday from a closed-door meeting with President-elect Donald Trump — a face-to-face sit down he called "thorough and in-depth" after they traded bitter barbs with one another during a divisive election.
Trump and Romney seemed to bury the hatchet at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey — where the businessman-turned-politician moved his White House transition team for the weekend — in a meeting that started shortly after 1 p.m. ET and lasted about an hour and a half.
Trump walked the former governor of Massachusetts outside and told the press, "It went great."

Judging by lyin’ Mitt’s graceless exit from the meeting, I think Trump is being excessively gracious in describing the exchange as “great.”

My opinion is that the meeting was held as a courtesy and for public relations purposes. By at least creating the appearance that Romney is being considered for a high post, he (Romney) has been de-fanged as a possible Trump enemy going forward and it cannot be said that Trump did not consider establishment moderates for his Cabinet.
I would be shocked if Romney was offered a high level post like SoS. He might be offered a lower level post where he can't do much damage.

Agreed. There is nothing - absolutely not one single thing - that Romney can bring that someone else can not bring along with greater loyalty and less rancor.
Putting Romney in on anything substantive will cost more support and supporter than it can bring in, both in quality and quantity.
If TRUMP is adamant on giving Mitt a role then give him the Va job! Let him fix the VA!!

Let’s hope. I was a big Romney fan when he ran but he showed his true colors this election cycle. I pray that Trump is just being gracious...no Romney for any position!
I think Romney would be a good Secretary of State.
Romneycare was basically forced down his throat by DC bureaucrats and MA Democrats.
No personality should be picked that will impede the work Trump was asked to do by his voters, either by the pick’s faults or by the opposition of leftists to Trump’s pick.
Besides picking the right Supreme Court people, the needed work will have to be done by Congress. Trump will simply sign the Republican reform bills into law.
Trump’s golf course in Bedminster isn’t far from where I live. I may take a ride out there tomorrow and see if I recognize anyone coming in or out of the gate. LOL.

Not going to worry about this. The thing with Trump is that he doesn’t hold grudges. This meeting was simply to bury the hatchet.
Elitist globalist Romney is more anti american than those in the Democratic party. Romney is the globalist leader trying to take down the US.
I don’t know about State. But Romney has a business background, supposedly understands healthcare, and is without doubt a “turnaround expert” as that’s how he built Bain Capital. It seems to me he’d have the ideal skills required to take the VA apart and put together a completely new organization that implements Trump’s view of how our great veterans ought to be treated. It would be an important and noble endeavor, although not easy by any means, and would be a way for Romney to leave a powerful legacy.
Great leaders find the best fit between people and the tasks that they need done, and I this is one that Trump should consider.
Well, I am glad that is over with. I have been wondering about this announced meeting and could not see any reason for it other than establishing if Mitt was prepared to work for America first rather than favoring his globalist buddies. The NO Trumpers burned their bridges with no possibility of rebuilding them. They all could have just voted in private as do most American citizens, hiding their animosity for the winner candidate, Donald Trump. But they all have publicly announced or acknowledged that they did not vote for Trump, and that had to be for the purpose of reassuring their globalist partners of their fealty to them and their cause. Never mind that Republicans supported Romney and Bush and other candidates and defended them from the merciless media attacks over the years. All of them knew that voting against Trump was a vote for the globalist democrat party machine which is trying to destroy this Republic. Never trust these committed globalists again. Never.
Forgot about RomneyCare in Mass. didn’t ya?
This would work out perfict for the globalist... an attack that kills Trump and Pence give Paul Ryan and Romney as President and VP.
