TRUMP Tells Hamilton Cast to Apologize to Pence For Harassing VP-Elect at Theater
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 11-19-2016 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 11/19/2016 7:12:28 AM PST by servo1969

Vice President-elect Mike Pence attended a performance of Hamilton tonight in New York City.

Pence was harassed by the audience… AND the cast..

The audience booed when he entered the theater. (many also cheered)

Then at the close of the performance the lead actor Brandon Dixon insulted the vice president-elect.

Actor Brandon Dixon lectured the new Vice President-elect on “tolerance.”

“Vice President elect Pence we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton the American musical. We really do. We sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us.”

Seriously?

On Saturday morning President-elect Donald Trump defended Mike Pence and told the Hamilton cast to apologize.

“Our wonderful future V.P. Mike Pence was harassed last night at the theater by the cast of Hamilton, cameras blazing. This should not happen!”

“The Theater must always be a safe and special place. The cast of Hamilton was very rude last night to a very good man, Mike Pence. Apologize!”

Here’s something interesting. I live in Manhattan and looked at the voting stats. In my neighborhood, the Upper East Side, 30% of the residents voted for Trump; on the Upper West Side, which is considerably more lefty than the UES, almost 20% of the residents voted for Trump. This shows you how OBNOXIOUS the anti-Trump people are: they’ve got the world thinking that people who disagree with them don’t even exist!

Shame on the cast of Hamilton. They have crossed the line and it will come back to haunt them.

We know they know they are behaving poorly. There is just no excuse for this kind of stuff. They are pushing beyond limits where the rest of us are not going to put up with it any further.

“They’re making a big deal about the actor being HIV+, who except liberals would actually brag about having STDs?”

Any rational adult would consider an STD a mark of shame. They might also question the wisdom of activities that led to such an STD in the first place.

Are leftists rational adults? A not so insignificant number of them act like children who throw tantrums when they don’t get their way.

Honestly. To be fair, it was the wrong time for Pence to go. Should have waited until election heat cooled off.

I bought tickets last year for January.

Not looking forward to going.

Should have scalped them last year when they were still worth something.

Someone on another thread said: “This is why we voted for DJT.”

Exactly.

We are SICK of the RACE BAITING.

We are SICK of the lies!

We are sick of the whinning little creeps who do nothing but DEMAND from those of us who only get humiliated!

We are SICK of illegal aliens marching in our streets demanding we make our laws to suit them!

We are SICK of this media destroying any chance we have to fix this mess before the leftists and anarchists destroy it all!

We are SICK of entertainers who have NO idea what they speak of running their mouths. SHUT UP!

WE ARE SICK OF USELESS IDIOT LEFTIST SUBVERSIVES!

Yes, that is exactly why we voted TRump/Pence!

In these far left enclaves, how many conservatives don’t even bother to vote because they know it’s basically hopeless? I have a strong suspicion the left isn’t nearly so popular as it thinks it is. They are just louder and more obnoxious than the right.

An actor trying to write his own lines rarely makes sense

Agreed! I would be in strictly business mode.
Entertainment would be limited to friends, family, and Netflix.

I wonder how happy they will be when Federal funding of the arts ends?
That could also apply to NPR and PBS. The free ride could be over and they might actually have to work for a living.

Elections are not crosstown high school rivalries.

And the liberals wonder why we call them childish.

Edmund Burke’s observation applies: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

I applaud President-elect Trump for using the technology of today to call out bad behavior, it is no longer acceptable to just put up with it, as you say. Remaining silent or tolerating abuse sends the signal that this is OK. Embarrassment and financial punishment are both effective responses.

I live in Eastern PA where local bus companies take people to Broadway shows. Hamilton is so popular that people can’t get tickets. Hope this fiasco stops Republicans from buying tickets. Speaking for myself, I won’t go.

Ugh. Cue all the negative publicity in the news cycles. ANY New Yorker/Angeleno with awareness of the arts communities would understand this would not be a good move. Especially timing wise. Hope Trump also surrounds himself with PR advisors who help him navigate the cultural landscape.
