Electoral College member from Texas might go rogue, says he's undecided
Houston Chronicle ^ | 11/17/16 | Carol Christian

Art Sisneros, one of 538 electors with the final say on who becomes the next U.S. president, says he's undecided on how to vote. The 40-year-old family man from Dayton is among the 38 people chosen to represent Texas in the Electoral College. That group will gather Dec. 19 in 50 state capitols around the country to vote on who wins the election. If all electors cast their votes in keeping with the winner of each state, then Donald Trump wins, even though Hillary Clinton received more popular votes overall.

conservative are a lot more dangerous then liberals when it comes to a decision like the one you mention because if they ever feel that the country is lost it wont be protesting on the streets because we know how to take a stand and if we ever chose to cross a line it will be a lot like the line crossed during the American revolution. that being said we are know where near needing to consider crossing that type of line.

A faithless elector should be arrested, tried, fined heavily and imprisoned for breach of the public trust. Period.

Much like Hillary Clinton

There are two sets of electors, when the Party wins, those electors get to vote.

A GOP elector can refuse to vote for Trump, but he can't vote for Hillary.

The guys life will be hell I am sure, but even if he does vote for Hillary, the margin of Trumps victory is YUGE!

Is there anything to really worry about here?

I don’t see how this could change anything.

The entire electoral college thing is to be the last stand against electing a dictator, crazy person, or despot.

That's exactly what happened in 2016...

>>> Texas one of 21 states where it is not illegal for an elector to vote against the people. Anyone know why this is?

Same reason we have a representative republic.

Lets say Hillary were successful in stealing the vote in Texas.... to the point it was quite obvious... or, lets say that it was revealed after the vote that she was going to be indicted for treason. The electors in the EC are supposed to be the last line of defense against a popular vote which is clearly misinformed or very unwise.

The electors are supposed to be better educated and informed in public matters to prevent what happened to us in 2008. Yes... the EC failed us then.

“we know how to take a stand and if we ever chose to cross a line it will be a lot like the line crossed during the American revolution”

http://www.eyewitnesstohistory.com/caesar.htm

The crossing of a small stream in northern Italy became one of ancient history’s most pivotal events . . . Julius Caesar manipulated his way to the Roman Legionary position of consul of Rome in 59 BC. After his year of service he was named governor of Gaul . . . Caesar’s popularity with the people soared, presenting a threat to the power of the Senate and to Pompey, who held power in Rome. Accordingly, the Senate called upon Caesar to resign his command and disband his army or risk being declared an “Enemy of the State”.

It was January 49 BC, Caesar was staying in the northern Italian city of Ravenna and he had a decision to make. Either he acquiesced to the Senate’s command or he moved southward to confront Pompey and plunge the Roman Republic into a bloody civil war. An ancient Roman law forbade any general from crossing the Rubicon River and entering Italy proper with a standing army. To do so was treason. This tiny stream would reveal Caesar’s intentions and mark the point of no return.

. . . Coming up with his troops on the banks of the Rubicon, which was the frontier of his province, he halted for a while . . . Caesar cried out, ‘Let us go where the omens of the Gods and the crimes of our enemies summon us! THE DIE IS NOW CAST!’ Accordingly he marched his army over the river . . . [And the rest is history.]

____________________________________________________________

Moments in time when a line is crossed can be remembered forever. America’s enemies would do well to consider that risk before taking their temper tantrums too far. Otherwise, they may well become a part of history rather than merely uninformed professors, teachers, and students of history.

Again, this is only one of Texas’ EC votes, this moron flipping to Hillary won’t flip the whole state’EC votes, will it?

Trump has tentatively over 300 EC votes, so it won’t change anything.

Even if he flips for Hillary it won’t even come close to mattering.

Am I correct?

FREEPERS - If you are on Facebook...I urge you to go to his FB page ( https://www.facebook.com/art.sisneros )

You should see the pressure and the number of people. If you are on Fb...you must get on there and weight in...apply some back-pressure. Explain to the snowflakes that when we protest this...they will regret it.

Yes... You are.

All of the electors in Texas could probably flip, and it still wouldn’t be enough to deny Trump his 270.

I would still hate to be one of those who did though.
It DOES represent a legal dis-enfranchisement of votes.

The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is this...........If the States elect the President, which they did, why does the EC have to “vote”? The States voted. That being said this guy is an attention whore.
