Either Obama or Trump would have to be deprived of use of the Oval Office for a period of time. I don’t know why Obama should take the hit.
Besides, Trump will get it done in six weeks instead of a year.

Great point about the Blair House renovations.
Besides, if President Trump has the renovation done under his watch, he can have the Oval Office inspected for hidden listening devices.

”The Oval Office, I always thought I was going to have really cool phones and stuff. . . I’m like, ‘C’mon guys, I’m the president of the United States. Where’s the fancy buttons and stuff and the big screen comes up?’ It doesn’t happen.” — President Obama “ Back in the days of the USSR, the way a western journalist gauged the importance of an official was, first, by the size of his office, and second, by the number of telephones on his desk. The bigger the office, the more phones, the more important the official.

Rats just don’t like to lose. If I recall correctly, back in the day, 2000, all the ‘W’’s were removed from the PC keyboards when Clinton’s staff left the White House.

This is lunacy.... I know it’s a special room with exceptional security and telecomm needs, but it can’t possibly require so long to renovate properly. No way.
Trump will get it done quickly and under budget.

As bad as their security was it will take that long to remove all the electronic bugs.

There's a really nice, new, hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue that would probably put in the lowest bid for accommodating him, his family, and offices for his staff.

Trump won’t like the lingering smell of cannabis, so it will need at, a minimum, a paint job.

Also silver and furniture went with the Clintons when they moved
To: PghBaldy
This is becoming a dominance contest. Trump needs to move in to the oval office on 21 January no matter what. There is a concerted effort underway by the democrats to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency and we all need to resist it.

What a stupid “story”.
The irony of it is that if they want to know what, if any, renovation is necessary, what the scope is, who the best contractors are, how much it would cost, how long it would take, whether it could be done with occupants in place - they have the world’s leading expert on such matters at their disposal: Trump himself!
To: ArtDodger
yah some how I think that telling a person that was in charge of building skyscrapers and 5 star hotels that it will take a year for a project just wont jive.
