“Democrats can spend four years raising heirloom tomatoes, meditating, reading Jane Austen, traveling around the country, tasting artisan beers”
It’s not in their DNA to do that. They’ll be fighting and slandering us all the way.

The condescension with which he write is
exactly why she lost.
I'm reluctant to say that, lest they mask it.

This is what passes for the wisdom of the left. Allow me to paraphrase and spare you all:
"If only we were in charge, why the world would fill up with cartoon birds that would flutter in and land on our shoulders while we all linked arms in global peace! Instead those big dumb uneducated racist meanies won! Well the jokes on them, they'll suffer even more than they have while we were in charge! I'm going to go sulk now."

He’s not stupid.
He’s uninformed.
Trump won the white educated vote 49-45.

And about those spotted owls: the biggest threat to the spotted owl is not people but another owl species, the barred owl. Spotted owls live in a specific ecological niche, whereas barred owls are much more adept at hunting and living in different places. Barred owls are so good at being owls that they outcompete spotted owls for food. They may also eat spotted owls, I don’t know. But guess what the leftists in the EPA and the USDA do about barred owls encroaching on spotted owl habitat? That’s right, they shoot them.

Make no mistake, the "meanness" and "cruelty" that Garrison Keillor sees in other people is projection.
His radio show is really slick, though. He excels at telling certain people how to think while they think they're having a good time, 'cause really he's just a good old boy from Minnesota. /s

By “wisdom” did you mean “leftist condescension”?
To: From The Deer Stand
Older liberals, like Keillor or Obama, have seen a few election cycles and recognize that politics is cyclical. Since 1945, with the exception of Reagan in 1980 and Bush in 1988, the Presidency has rotated between Democrats and Republicans in eight year cycles. The millennial snowflakes and stupid entertainers are the leftist equivalent of rightist doomsayers. Their behavior is to throw massive temper tantrums, funded generously by George Soros. The rightist parallel is stocking up with gold, guns, and MREs to prepare for the apocalypse, which will take place any day now.

No, the elites are chanting things like ‘Love Trumps Hate’ and ‘Stop the Electoral College’... except that in true Elitist fashion, they aren’t even dirtying their hands - they are hiring servants to do their bidding for them.

What’s sad is that Garrison has spent his adult life writing about the very people he’s denigrating. I’ve read at least 10 of his novels over the years. The reason I like the residents of Lake Woebegon is not because it’s a town made up of the elitists he talks about, but because they are real everyday people. I’ve often said he is the modern day Mark Twain and I suspect the people of the fictional Lake Woebegon would be Trump voters. If you want to crack up, read Liberty as a starter. A great novel with a hilarious ending.
Incidentally he talked of visiting two of his former teachers and both military war vets. I noticed he did not say who they voted for. My guess is those guys were Trump supporters....

The uneducated white males who elected him are the vulnerable ones, and they will not like what happens next. What, like get government out of their hair, and have a better economy? I stopped reading at this point.
GK is a pompous fool on a mountaintop. Everyone else looks small to him, and he looks small to everyone else.

Let the uneducated have their day. This from a guy who made a fortune setting himself up as a representative of small town, folksy, Middle America.
