Morning Joe spent its opening segment scalding the notion of either Rudy Giuliani or John Bolton as Secretary of State in the Trump administration. Giuliani was described as completely unqualified for the job, and someone who has personally profited off national security matters, a la the Clintons. Bolton was blasted as a “neo-con on steroids” whose views are out of sync with Trump’s, and is “donor-driven,” with Sheldon Adelson’s name being dropped.
So who’s Scarborough and company’s pick for SecState? Joe and Mike Barnicle called the selection of Tennessee Senator Bob Corker a “no-brainer.” Maybe so, but not necessarily in the way they meant it. Corker is infamously the man who facilitated President Obama’s disastrous Iran deal. Corker has been castigated across the conservative spectrum, as here, here, here and here.

I remember voting for this guy when he ran as a conservative Christian. “For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his soul?”
Giuliani touts his expertise on the threat of Islamic terrorism. Yet after being elected mayor soon after the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, what did he do to prevent another attack? He gets credit just for being mayor when the next attack occurred.
Isn’t he a creepy weasel? A careerist, a phony, a change coat, a traitor and a million other things. His mother must be so proud.
Ok, well, given Joe Blow & Mika either/or throw a soiree every other month, that means Zbig has a cocktail-hour eartick planted in both. So, f'm. Particularly Barnicle, who has looked just shredded this year.
I'm only mildly amused that Rudy actually wants SoS when he could be the AG of all time. SoS is a shitty job that has limited ROI.

“We” shouldn’t have a word to say about this. This is not OUR cabinet, these are the people TRUMP feels HE needs to MAGA. We should not even be speculating on the process. We elected him to do the job, so let’s let him pick the personnel he needs and stay the hell out of his way.

Honestly, we would all be better served if NO ONE was secretary of state. How about a few ambassadors to those few REAL ALLIES we actually have, and the lynchpin democracies that depend on us. As for the rest...? Why bother with any of them. Also, shut it down at the UN. Condemn the building and re-develop the site. Trump’s just the man for a stunning mixed use project.

I know some people here have issues with him, heck I have issues with him, but Rudy Giuliani is one of the greatest living Americans. In fact, he’s one of the greatest New Yorkers of all time, and that’s saying something. I would fully support his appointment to ANY position.
When will this buffoon realize he has no power or sway? His pontificating every morning is only helpful for when you have a hangover and need a push to finishing vomiting everything up upon hearing his bloviating voice.
Corker is responsible for the Iran deal...he should be impeached, not elevated.
