Do you think President Obama is responsible for creating an atmosphere that allowed Donald Trump to win the election last week?

I would say more of Dim policies in general, not just zero’s... what happened in the rust belt took decades.

I’ve been arguing this for a year. If not for Obama plus the failed GOP opposition then no Trump. I joined the campaign in late Dec/early Jan with that understanding.

When the GOP begged for votes to fight Obama then got to DC and did nothing, that created the need for an outsider like Trump.
John Boner/Paul Ryno and McConnell did as much or more to create Trump than Obama

It is not just Obama. It is the entire political left tolerating an authoritarian wing that says not only “we’re good, smart, rational, tolerant, moral - and you’re stupid, evil, crazy” BUT “we’re so good, and you’re so evil, we don’t just have to ignore you or mock you but physically attack you for daring to do anything but cower and hide”.

Hmmm. Yes, there is malpractice to go around. Obama seems to have perfected it. The fact that it was “racist” to criticize him made the reaction all the more disruptive.

In Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia definitely. His EPA regs on coal fired power plants caused many of them to be closed which greatly affected coal mine jobs closing down many coal operations.

Then Hillary derped in Ohio about "putting Coal miners and Coal Mine Owners out of business."

The Dominoes lined up perfectly. If Hillary had won Ohio And Pennsylvania she would be measuring the Oval Office for new drapes right now.

I think the next Civil War will be forever his legacy.

I agree with that, and would add: for me, Trump’s ascendancy has Boehner and McConnell written all over it.

Yes.

Any other simple questions that require obvious answers?

He just made it happen sooner. That mess had been under construction for years.

The war on coal and the unending, vengeful denigration and insulting of ‘bitter clingers’ was a BIG part.
