In my 18 years as a deputy prosecutor, the highest I ever saw was a .43. The deputy who arrested him said he knew he was drunk, but he was walking and talking coherently. The deputy was shocked it was that high. The guy was 53 but looked 75. He died about two years later.

One thing that woke me up to that was that I looked around at the people who agreed with me

HA! Roger that. When I was young, I was liberal. Nothing new there. Grew up with all the same people in a small town, didn't know much about anything. So why not?

Then, I went to college. I saw what real liberals look like, and - more important - found out what liberals stand for. "I have NOTHING in common with these sad, lonely and tormented people.", I said, then went conservative and never looked back. Didn't even take all of my freshman year to figure it out; I had a pretty good clue by the time I came home for Christmas.

Easily the second smartest decision that I ever made, with the first being getting married to the lovely and talented Mrs. WBill.
