SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Donald Trump’s election as president is giving a big social-media boost to an unlikely effort in the nation’s most populous state: a plan to vote on seceding from the union.
The Yes California Independence Campaign hopes to put a question on the November 2018 ballot that would authorize a statewide independence vote for the spring of 2019.
The effort drew little attention until Tuesday’s election, which also kept Trump’s fellow Republicans in charge of Congress and raised the possibility of a conservative shift on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Any effort to get an issue on the ballot requires the gathering of hundreds of thousands of signatures.

Most likely. The relevant thing here is that California was Reagan's state and considered fairly conservative a few decades back. If California has changed so much in 30 or 40 years, what does the future hold for the rest of the country?

I lived either in Los Angeles, or near it for 30 years. It was paridice in 1976. When I left in 2006, it was an over crowded hell hole. 7 million illegals just in California. LaRaza confirms this number. That so called 11 million illegals in the USA claim has never changed since 2003 !

Well, no. Every time an African-American gets elected mayor of a city we hear that a White man will never be mayor again, but most of the time one does manage to get elected.
If that's true of Chicago, LA and NY, it's most likely even truer of the country as whole.
Politicians who get nominated or elected can be very skillful in playing group off against group to make room for themselves.
Balanced tickets, though, probably require that Clinton and Gore will be the last Democrat two White guy team elected.
