Internet news mogul Matt Drudge reacted on Sunday to news the FBI had cleared Hillary Clinton by forecasting that a stormy news cycle would dominate the final days of the presidential race. “Comey's head-fake just made the hornets nest even crazier!” the Drudge Report founder tweeted. The conservative news aggregator added: “48 hours of madness upcoming!!” It was not clear to what Drudge was referring, but the Clinton campaign warned on Sunday that any bombshell emails published by WikiLeaks in the final two days of the election would “probably” not be authentic. FBI Director James Comey informed Congress on Sunday that a review of new emails found in relation to the bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server had not yielded any reason for charges against the Democratic presidential nominee. Drudge has been a fierce Trump supporter throughout the 2016 campaign cycle. Shortly after the FBI announcement, a headline on his website read: "CONFUSED COMEY CLEARS HER AGAIN!"

I understand whistleblowers, but it will be a moot point if she wins. If she loses, Trump has already said he will appoint a special prosecutor.
My point was, and it remains, that people need to stop entertaining the idea that NYPD is going to ride in to this thing on a white horse and somehow do the job of the FBI. They can’t. Classified information is the property and jurisdiction of Uncle Sam.
If you can’t even legally view something how can you investigate it? There is no jurisdiction for NYPD and they work for a crazy leftist Mayor so I would not even count on leaks from NYPD. It’s not their place or right to do the job of the FBI.
We need to stop such suggestions because people will be disappointed (again) and may even wrongly believe that NYPD did not do their job. It is a false hope and a waste of time to even dream of it.

The fact that none of this has happened is a condemnation of where we as a nation are, not of Assange.
I agree. Have made that same point many times - there is more than enough to convene a Grand Jury and determine if there is probable cause for criminal charges. The FBI had more than enough to do this and wikileaks has provided plenty of fuel to the fire.
It obviously won’t happen though. Our only chance of seeing justice prevail is Trump being elected and even then it would come at a big cost.

Criminal investigations don’t work that way. They are not wikileaks or congressmen. It is rare that cops “leak” information about an investigation - it prejudices the jury pool and generally ticks off the Judge.
Perhaps we will see if there are still patriots in the FBI.

One set of laws requires intent. The other does not. For the latter, negligence is a felony - especially somethingg as over-the-top as this. No intent is ‘mishandling’. Intent makes it espionage.
One set of documents you sign before you ever get access to classified materials, and which she signed as well, requires you to acknowledge that under penalty of law you will take special care to safeguard and secure classified materials. They also describe the general basis for each classification level and you acknowledge that you understand that even if the types of materials are not labelled with a classification, that you are still responsible, under penalty of law, for safeguarding them.
The arguments being made on her behalf are simply absurd.
