McCrory says Trump is the 'outsider' needed to clean up Washington

Wilmington, N.C. — Melania Trump is campaigning once again for her husband, this time during a Saturday afternoon rally at the Wilmington International Airport.

"I have known this man for 18 years. Donald is a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He's strong, determined, bold and decisive," she said, reiterating the campaign slogan by telling voters her husband would make America great again.

When Donald Trump began speaking, he quickly pulled Gov. Pat McCrory on stage, saying he has been "loyal to Trump from day one."

"I want to thank your incredible governor. Get out and vote for him. He's a good man, and he'll do a good job," Donald Trump said.

McCrory called the Trump campaign "the best of America" as he gestured toward the nominee.

"We need an outsider to clean up Washington, D.C., just like we had an outsider to clean up Raleigh," McCrory said.

(Sorry had to put in a lot of the article for the excerpt because the gist of the point of the article was far down in the paragraphs.)

Was very glad to see Donald Trump bring Governor McCrory up on stage with him yesterday.

McCrory is in a terribly close election battle with Demonrat Roy Cooper. One key issue is HB 2 - the bathroom sanctity law - which has led to several entities like the ACC and NCAA tournaments pulling their games from NC. The Dems hope that the public is so angry about these events, that they will put Cooper into office. If Cooper wins, he could drag Hillary into a victory in NC also. Thus the reason for this post. All NC voters who care about the future of North Carolina's children in terms of who can go into a bathroom of the opposite sex need to get out and vote for Pat McCrory and with him Donald Trump!

Also, McCrory is in the process of cleaning out the swamp that was NC politics in Raleigh - and he MUST be given a chance to finish that job!

Pat McCrory is holding onto DJT for his dear political life, that’s for sure and so are a lot of other GOP politicians at this point.

Last year Governor McCrory looked bad on social issues vetoing legislation to protect government officials who chose to not participate in gay marriage.

This year the governor started making transgender restroom access a big issue to distract from last year’s cave in on religious freedom.

An “emotional wedge issue” as Karl Rove would say. A distraction focus grouped issue to have more popular support than appearing to oppose gay marriage.

I had forgotten about the gay marriage mishap by McCrory.

He has done a lot to clean out the swamp in Raleigh - and he along with the Republicans in the Legislature - have indeed cut taxes and I believe ended the budget shortfall and improved the job situation in NC.

Unfortunately, his HB2 stand is unpopular with a lot of NC voters. I just hope he doesn’t bring down Donald Trump - but I hope Trump lifts him to victory. Early voting in NC has been huge....but I don’t know if that’s good or bad for both McCrory or Trump.

“Pat McCrory is holding onto DJT for his dear political life”

There’s no need to degenerate the man with that kind of remark.

The Charlotte city council made transgender bathroom access an issue when they passed an extreme ordinance that would have forced private businesses and clubs to allow people to choose the bathroom which corresponded with their chosen gender.

One can criticize McCrory and the GOP state legislature for passing a counter measure that went beyond simply negating the radical Charlotte ordinance if they want, but McCory didn’t pick this fight.

During the ag crises in the 80’s many banks were closed. They would bring in a retired banker and staff from OUTSIDE THE COMMUNITY to close the bank down. After the work was they left.........................

The political game is played in NC and McCrory took a lot o heat, but the bathroom issue is something that clicks better with voters than ‘being a stick in the mud’ over gay marriage.

I think that’s an honest statement because the polling is close and Governor McCrory caved to the corporatist interests last year vetoing First Amendment legislation to protect gay marriage dissenters who are government officials.

Good luck to NC, FWI. Sounds like the usual Bob Creamer dreaming up a slew of fake antipathy in your state. NC has a great reputation out West. But lots of Democrats are escaping the messes of their failed states to live in your beautiful state.

Yes, I know.....we have a LOT of retirees moving here from the North and some from the West. That’s one reason our state went for Obama in 2008. But it went for Romney in 2012.....so there is big hope NC will still go for Trump despite the implants......
