The State Department on Friday released a 2009 email chain that shows then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton forwarding to her daughter material that the department classified last year.
At issue is a December 2009 email that President Barack Obama’s trade adviser, Michael Froman, sent to senior White House and State Department staff members. After it made its way up to Clinton, she sent it to “Diane Reynolds,” an email pseudonym for Chelsea Clinton.

But, the reason for classifying it Confidential is a standing criteria. It was most likely considered Confidential at inception.
If Clinton (and the rest of her staff) had paid attention during their security briefing/indoctrination, they would have known that.
It may not have been marked correctly but markings do not determine whether it is classified or not. That is determined by the nature of the information.

It was always classified. Anything that came through the State Department server was by definition classified.
Yep. Nice weasel word. Note that if it was classified at inception then it was also classified after it was sent. Thus, AP can say it was 'classified later'. It was also 'classified earlier, like at inception.

She had no business sending it to Chelsea at all.
Hillary, as SoS, basically de-classified classified info so she could send it to her bribers and Chelsea’s hedge-fund-hubbie.
Once she was gone, State re-classified everything she de-classified.
THAT’s what Hillary means when she says it wasn’t classified “at the time.”
I dealt with Top Secret Crypto info on a daily basis while in the Military, 3 1/2 years from the end of boot camp til the end of my enlistment. I never encountered material which was classified later after not being classified. My Politico says Tango Sierra!

And where do you come up with this nugget of information?
The SoS has power to determine classification of any State doc. Hillary just decides it is not “classified” any longer, and she is then free to send it to anyone she wants.
Where is this power enumerated?
That's the most interesting part of this article. What possible legitimate reason could Hillary Clinton have for calling her daughter anything other than "Chelsea Clinton"? The alias proves intent, to anyone honest, to anyone other than FBI Director Comey.
