‘I’m Not Ashamed’ producer considering suing Google for anti-Christian bias
Washington Times ^ | October 23, 2016 | Tom Quimby

Politicians in Washington aren’t going to care much right now about a movie depicting the short life of a Christian girl, according to film producer Chuck Howard. But that’s not going to stop the Nashville resident from trying to motivate lawmakers to take on Google and dismantle what he says has become a biased media monopoly.

...

faith-based film “I’m Not Ashamed,” .. film’s trailer garnered over 5 million views before YouTube removed the channel nearly a year ago.

The channel was recently reinstated after The Hollywood Reporter contacted YouTube about the incident. However, the channel was hit with a temporary penalty and warned that additional videos found to be objectionable on the channel could result in account termination.

You Tube is a popular area, but aren’t there alternative video servers? If You Tube does not want the Christian company, then someone else will profit. I’m not sure of the wisdom of such a lawsuit, because it’s going to stress cultural Christianity rather than spiritual Christianity.

There needs to be a law against huge, almost monopolistic companies discriminating against customers and employees based on their political preferences — otherwise no conservative will be safe. Forget about the libertarian objections — without such a law, there will be no libertarians.

It’s hard to remember that the goal is spiritual Christianity rather than cultural Christianity.

But the other side of “I am not ashamed of the gospel” is “I’m not going to keep hammering on the gospel where it’s manifestly not welcome.”

Google needs more competition. Most folks, including me are just too lazy to deal with other search engines besides Google. I suspect there are other versions of YouTube also, many of them free. I long for the day when Google and Facebook become antiquated and underutilized, like MySpace and AOL have now become.

There’s already a Godtube. The variable here is how many people are going to care.

Google needs more competition.

They have good competition for search, but what would benefit everyone (other than Google) is if they had good competition for AdWords. Its their strangle hold on competitors in other areas.

You are right but in the end the one sided hate mongering will drive us to martyrdom as I read HATEFUL posts by the under 35s about Christianity on news sites.

I wouldn’t deny my God, but i’m in no rush to be a Martyr!! It doesn’t fit me well!

And you’re right. Sometimes people act as if their religion is a football team :)

I’m guilty of it at times.

“Google needs more competition. ...”
********
An aspiring conservative competitor cannot start-up his own Google any more than he can start-up his own auto company, water works, etc. There is a lack of what economists call “free entry”.

Seems that if a gay can force a Christian baker to make a homosexual wedding cake then a Christian should be able to force Google to allow them to publish Christian based films.

Also, what is meant by Google when the say objectionable material? Objectionable to who? These days someone could be found to object to anything. Does free speach mean anything any more? I guess that is a dumb question, of course it doesn’t, at least as far as Google is concerned.

I hope Trump wins and forces Congress to put rules in place to outlaw this kind of bias and also make political correctness a felony. Right after they hang all the mainstream media pukes.

That is good.

Martrydom should not be sought, neither should it be fought--with earthly weapons.

I know it sounds foolish, but yes, I have heard of DuckDuckGo, but I resist ever using it. Why? Because I don’t like the name. It looks foolish in print and it does not feel good rolling off the tongue. People make product usage decisions based on many different criteria. Not just utility.

Google sounds good, neat, complete. It has a ‘long vowel’ sound to it. The emphasis is on the first syllable, like much of American English .A long vowel sound often gives something a more lasting quality. DuckDuckGo is nothing but a series of short, ‘incomplete’ vowel sounds, It gives the impression that something is missing. I would never have chosen it. I feel that something is stuck in my throat whenever I say it out loud. I dislike saying it out loud.

If one must use birds for the company name, how about other choices, such as ‘Eagle’ Swan, Hoot-Owl, Condor, even Vulture. Vulture has short vowels, but it’s only got two syllables. There is a story and an instant sight graphic that comes to mind, a large, wide winged strong bird that travels alone. Grey Goose is a good one too. oo for Goose.

Goodsearch (click here) powered by Yahoo! has been around for more than 10 years, and gives a penny, every time you use it, to the cause which you identify.

I had not heard of "Goodtube." I'll look into it. The article is about Youtu.be. Is there a connection with google?
