3 competing theories on why the FBI re-opened the Hillary email server investigation

There is no question that re-opening the FBI Investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server is a big deal. The FBI normally avoids acting just before an election in order to avoid charges of political manipulation. NBC reports:

The FBI is reviewing a new batch of Hillary Clinton emails, bureau director James Comey said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday.

"In connection with an unrelated case, the FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation … I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation," he wrote.

The very first thing to note is that Comey made no mention of a grand jury. The emails whose existence he learned of may have been the result of a subpoena in another investigation. If that is the case, further subpoenas are quite possible, a tool that was left unused in the investigation to date.

There are 3 competing theories as to why he might be doing this now that come to mind.

He might be seeking to restore his badly damaged reputation, recognizing that the damage he has inflicted on the FBI is substantial. Three days ago, American Thinker published an open letter from a retired FBI Agent, Hugh

I suspect Weiner’s phone was “honey trapped and hacked” by someone. I wonder if a person could hack his phone and then use it to hack Huma’s?

A couple of months ago someone in here said there was a taped conversation of Huma.....anyone remember that?

“In Democrat states in particular, you can take this to the bank: a judge will make whatever ruling is necessary to award the electoral votes to the Democrat replacement.”

While that is certainly true, the RAT States are in the MINORITY today.

My guess is Comey, POTUS, and the AG realize Trump will win and the entire Democrat Party will be tried under the RICO act and they will need to build new federal prisons to hold em all.

Not in electoral votes.

...She won't drop out voluntarily, so this is the Hail Mary pass to get her off the ticket, and replace her with someone more palatable.....

Isn't too late to pull a Torrecelli?

It would be hard to do Comey in, since he has a 10 year appointment as FBI Director starting in 2013. -Tom

If there is evidence of a crime or even a cover-up by Comey, he can spend the rest of that 10 years in the pokey, plus more.

It's never too late to pull a Torrecelli. That's exactly my point.

NJ law prohibited Democrats from replacing Torrecelli on the ticket, after he withdrew.

But, a judge allowed them to do it anyway.

The Donkeys know Hitlery will be badly compromised (subject to foreign influence / blackmail) if she wins, so they may be tossing her under the bus. They’ll try to elevate Julian Castro or Kamala Harris as the next ‘historic’ hope for 2020(assuming the whole party doesn’t collapse and split up).

If President Trump wants Comey gone, he'll be gone.

If Comey resists, there is plenty of evidence to impeach him. Congress would be more than happy to do so.

Chart shows Peso per Dollar, so up is down for the Peso (if that makes sense):

You can just type MXNUSD into Google for a right-side-up chart showing dollars per peso.

Down from 7.5¢ in 2012 to bumping against 5¢ now.

The FBI know that if Trump wins, then everybody involved in a coverup will be in trouble.

They may have decided that Trump is very likely to win, and thus abandoned Hillary.

I just had a similar thought myself. One thing for damn sure is that the FBI is not doing this because of their desire to see justice served. It well could be rats leaving a sinking ship.

We do not vote for President on November 8. We vote for a slate of electors selected by their respective parties.

Hillary pulls out, new candidate X is put in, Dem voters are told to still pull the lever for Hillary, and that it will really be for X. The real election happens in December when the electoral college meets.

Attorney and noted #NeverTrumper David French has the lead article on National Review at the moment. He writes:

On Friday afternoon, the FBI uncorked the mother of all October surprises, announcing in a letter to Congress that it has re-opened its investigation of Hillary Clinton’s “personal email server.” The reason? During an “unrelated investigation”* it uncovered e-mails that “appear to be pertinent” to Clinton’s case. It is seeking to determine whether the e-mails contain classified information and can’t yet determine their significance.

Stripped of the legalese, it means that Hillary is back in legal jeopardy. The FBI doesn’t investigate and recommend enforcement actions against computer servers. It holds people accountable, and Hillary is the person most responsible for her own e-mail.
...
unless the FBI announces the investigation and clears her within the span of basically one work week (an action that would be deeply problematic on its own terms), Hillary’s closing argument to the American people is going to be that Donald Trump is so dangerous that it’s worth gambling your vote on a woman under current criminal investigation.

The event that Comey is being blackmailed by Hillary over is in those emails.

“3) Comey has concluded Trump will win, and his will be the first name taken and ass kicked.”

That has to be part of it.

This has nothing to do with Comey, IT IS OBAMA not wanting to be implicated with Hillary. Remember Obama said a couple weeks ago “I have never had a major scandal”, that comment is the key to all this. OBAMA allowed this to be released so Hillary will take the fall.
