My MIL is sweet, so is my FIL (both Trump supporters, I think BIL Mrs Deplorable youngest brother is going for Johnson. He is a Libertarian.)
My sister and her husband moved to Transylvania County. Nice area. Sister is in real estate, BIL works in the HomeDeport HQ...
Connecticut did away with counties in 1960...
Trump supporters have to drive more support to the polls. We can just vote, we have to take 10 more to the polls OUTSIDE our family circles.
I am an unaffiliated Trump voter in Wake County (Raleigh).
I think ELCO County is larger than 5 states (I once read) ...
Yes, these numbers are obviously bunk.
LOL !!!
It’s actually spelled “Elko” and Nevada has 17 counties.
Yep, Berkeley, Austin, Madisonistan, Asheville....
Yeah, but let's also keep in mind that a lot of these registered Democrats are the old-style "My great-great-granpappy was a Democrat during the War of Northern Aggression, so I am too" types. Lots of older North Carolinians are Democrats by affiliation but will likely be voting Trump.
Here in the NC counties I am familiar with (Alamance, Orange, Durham) there doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement about Hillary. I don't doubt for a minute that Orange and Durham will go Hillary heavily, but probably not as heavily as they did for Obama in 2008 and 2012, which will count for something since they're relatively large counties, population-wise.
Plus, I suspect that the black vote will be down, as well. With no "First Black Preznet" to vote for, and a screechy white woman who reminds black guys of Driving Miss Daisy at the top of the Dem ticket, I am just not seeing as much excitement in them as in previous years.
“I think ELCO County is larger than 5 states (I once read) ...”
Its actually ELKO and it’s only 17,000 square miles, with 52,000 residents and only about 8 “population centers.” It’s still a good deal smaller than San Bernardino County in California, at 20,000 square miles but it has 2.2 million people.
....and that’s a caboose that not even Bill wants to see...
Replace voted with registered and it might make more sense.
Actually nevermind - my only thought is this is a DEM article to push for DEM votes by making the race look close and there are more registered DEMS in NC ...
;-)
