Here’s a link to a Salt Lake City Tribune story on McMullin:

Oh they will, at least the Mormons. The LDS church has already said to in essence with a letter telling them to vote for the candidate who reflects Mormon gospel principles (ie the Mormon).

However, the exmormons I know in Utah are pretty solidly Trump with a few heading to Hillary and the nevermormons are equally divided except in Ogden which is more pro-Trump (Hill AFB)

Mormons? Don’t bet they have the intelligence to understand why they must vote Trump. They play follow the leader.

Trump for President.

Don’t be too sure. McMullin is solid in Utah, Northern AZ, and ID (Mormon country). The Mormon owned Deseret News has come out against Trump and for McMullin and so has the Mormon leadership so Utah is a toss up and that is from people in political circles in Utah.

I wonder if Evan McMullin was paid by the Hillary campaign to run in Utah and split the non-Hillary vote in that state. It’s the sort of sleaze I would expect from the tyrant wannabe.

Thanks for the clarifications. I am heartened to hear this! As a Catholic, I worked side-by-side with so many great Mormons, and I am glad that we remain, for the most part, in the same trench.

I shutter to think of what will happen to Utah if they vote for McMullin...and Trump wins the Presidency.

If that Clinton Foundation October Accounts Payable report is to be believed (the one that lists Glenn Beck), Evan McMullan is on Clinton ‘s payroll.

As admittedly ridiculous as the following is going to sound, it is Constituionally conceivable that if McMullin won Utah and got their 6 electoral votes and IF there was a tie between Trump and Clinton in the Electoral College with neither having 270 electoral votes, the House of Representatives is permitted to vote (one vote per state) for any of the top three candidates receiving electoral votes. And under Paul Ryan’s traitorous leadership, McMullin could end up being selected by the House as president.
In 1800 there was an Electoral vote tie between Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson, the House selected Jefferson.
In 1824, there wasn’t a 50-50 tie, but a split among four candidates which meant that no one received the required majority, so the election went to the House. In that case, although Andrew Jackson won the popular vote, the House selected John Quincy Adams as president.
Rachel Jackson, Andrew’s wife had not had her divorce from her first husband finalized before she married Andrew Jackson. A “Bigamy” charge was used against the Jacksons and it cost him votes in the House of Representatives.

Like most religions, Mormons are not monolithic. They break down in thirds, much like Catholics or Protestants.

About one-third will blindly follow their leadership.

Another third is reasonably active in their faith but thinks for themselves.

The final third doesn't even bother to attend church for the most part. They are there culturally, but more like the second third than the first.

Just take a look at how many Catholics blindly follow Pope Frank. Or how many Protestants take their voting advice from Rev. Graham or Dr. James Dobson.

Mormons are roughly 60% of Utah's population, maybe 25% of Idaho's and 10% of Wyoming's, Nevada's and Arizona's. Divide those numbers by 1/3rd and you have McMuffin's ceiling.

Mormon superiority attitude at its worst.
I’m not sure what is in the water in Salt Lake City but this idiot has drank too much of it.

The writers of the Constitution were men of frequent weakness and moral failing who nonetheless did an inspired work and who Mormons believe were ultimately accepted of the Lord.

Well!

Thank GOD for the wisdom and discernment of MORMONS!

I don’t live in Utah, and knew nothing of the guy at all until about a week and a half ago.

How much do know about the religion he was born into?

Good thread. Romney must be crying now. I think a lot of this was jealousy on his part. He needs to get on board to sink Hillary. I’ve never seen a rich guy throw so much money away. Get over it Romney. You lost and yes I did vote for you once. This is Trumps time and setting up McMullin was a stupid move.

A vote for Evan McMullin is a vote for Hillary Clinton. Period. End of story.

Evan McMullin was born in Provo, Utah on April 2, 1976 as the only child of computer scientist David McMullin and Lanie (Bullard) McMullin.

An only child?

To a Mormon couple?

In Provo?

REALLY??
