Good thing Chicago has gun control, otherwise, somebody might get hurt.

...and people sneer when I tell them why I carry 20 and 30 round magazines:

I love smarting off to their question: "Why do you have a 20 round clip in your handgun?"

Answer: "First, I'll keep it simple since you are obviously very ignorant of some simple facts. I carry a 20 round MAGAZINE so I can fight my way to the truck with my FN P90S SBR with 50 round magazines and my 870 SBS".

THAT is why I carry it......and so does my wife*:

*not my wife

The unstated assumption of the Chicago leadership is that even though their fair city is heading for 800 murders this year, it can be ignored because virtually all were on the South or West Sides, the vast portion were drug or gang related, and the radical groups won’t make a peep about this mass crime as long as a cop wasn’t involved. So the police are effectively told to stand back, stand down. Now, its spreading to the Loop and Magnificent Mile, where it can’t be ignored and where the merchants, tourist based businesses and most importantly from the standpoint of the “leadership”, the tax paying base will suffer.

This is Michigan Ave, the heart of Chicago’s upscale tourism and shopping. A favorite ‘girl’s weekend’ destination for moms and daughters from all over the Midwest. This ain’t the ‘hood that Chicago can afford to ignore!

CHICAGO COOK COUNTY Commish alerts biz owners to possible mandated 58% pay hike for employees

Businesses were not informed of this huge cost increase nor did they have an opportunity to prepare or budget for it. With their yearly budgets already set, they will now be forced to increase their staff salaries by 27% literally overnight and 58% over the next 20 months ~ Commissioner Morrison

By Cook Co Commissioner Sean Morrison -

On October 5, certain commissioners introduced a Minimum Wage Increase Ordinance for all Cook County businesses with a vote scheduled for October 25. This quick action leaves local businesses with only a few days to analyze the financial impact and assess their ability to cover this immense and unexpected new cost.

Businesses were not informed of this huge cost increase nor did they have an opportunity to prepare or budget for it. With their yearly budgets already set, they will now be forced to increase their staff salaries by 27% literally overnight and 58% over the next 20 months. This massive wage increase will undoubtedly create a substantial financial disadvantage for Cook County businesses and will hurt the extensive efforts by suburban municipalities to attract new businesses, create new economic development opportunities and grow jobs.

Recent actions by the Cook County Board to pile on a massive Minimum Wage Hike, an expensive Paid Sick Leave regulation and a costly Beverage Tax all at once will be devastating to our local economy and will no doubt shutter the doors of many businesses along with the loss of numerous jobs for our hardworking residents. All of this excessive government regulation thrown onto small businesses is a formula for economic disaster.

The suspects are working in large groups of five to eight young men and women. Police said they believe the offenders are teenagers.

Is there any pertinent information about theses teenagers missing from the report?

The Elites as in all Democrat controlled big cities have hired private security - (unavailable to lowly taxpayers), to protect themselves from the rampant crime.

Chicago News 10/03/2016,

Epstein and his neighbors near Wrigley hire private security
Chicago Cubs President Theo Epstein.

With crime surging citywide, residents in one of Chicago’s wealthiest neighborhoods are chipping in to hire private security guards to patrol their 16-square-block section of Lake View a half-mile west of Wrigley Field.

Among those donating to the cause: Cubs President Theo Epstein and his wife.

The Epsteins are among “dozens” of families who have contributed to the Southport Community Alliance, a not-for-profit group formed in June to pay for patrols of homes bounded by West Grace Street, West Roscoe Street, and Southport and Ashland avenues.

Marie Whitney, Epstein’s wife, is one of three directors of the organization, according to state records.

Besides a rise in burglaries and robberies in their neighborhood, the Epsteins understandably have other concerns about safety.

Theo typically walks the nine or so blocks to work at Wrigley Field, according to a recent ESPN The Magazine story. In 2012, a mentally ill Boston-area woman who had developed a fixation on Theo arrived on the Epsteins’ doorstep and chatted up a wary Marie, before heading to the ballpark in search of Theo.

A Cubs spokesman declined to answer questions about the Epsteins’ involvement with the alliance.

Others involved declined to comment on the group’s donors — though the Southport Community Alliance website says it has “over 100 families supporting it.”

At a community meeting Monday to discuss the program and its progress, Epstein was among those in the audience. He told others he’d been impressed with how the program has been working. He told the gathering the motivation for the program was “gunshots.”
