So says Vice President Joe Biden in a clip from an upcoming episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, where the two take the Vice President’s 1967 Chevrolet Corvette for a spin.
Biden tells Leno the car was a surprise wedding gift from his father, who worked at a car dealership at the time.
Biden is the car's only owner, and the well-maintained green convertible looks to be in mint condition, with a four-speed manual and a rebuilt 327 cu-in V8. Leno says it's a 300 hp version, but a decal on the air cleaner says it has 350 hp. According to the Hagerty Price Guide, it could be worth close to $100,000 today.
Due to security concerns, Biden isn’t allowed to drive it much these days. The jaunt with Jay was just the third time he’s been behind the wheel in seven years, and the ride took place at a secure Secret Service training facility.

His dad was a used car salesman when they were living in Wilmington, Delaware, so that may explain how Joe R. Jr. (the grandfather was Joe H., interestingly enough, and apparently a better businessman than Joe R. Sr.) could have come across the car.

His first wife & child died in a car accident... He seems too flip, too often. He is literally (as in physically) not right in the head.
I’ve done just shy of 160 at a superspeedway with wide passes and high walls in a NASCAR Busch series car. No way biden has gone this fast - it takes a tremendous amount of skill, focus, and technology to get there. I’m not saying guys here have not hit north of 150 on back roads, but it’s tough without controlled conditions!
I got my base model 2015 Ford Fusion over 100 mph. :)

Its Biden’s own fault, he advised everybody to buy shotguns. Could be he was to up close and personal with somebodies wife. 160 might be possible in that situation.
