And just to think, if his name was Hillary Clinton he wouldn’t be facing this punishment. Tough luck.

What a surprise, Big Media dutifully neglected to mention his political party, and refused to say that his crime was a felony.

Ok so let me get this straight...
taking bribes = bad = go to jail
'Pay to Play' = business as usual = run for president.

Is that about right?

Fifth paragraph:

The sentencing in U.S. District Court brings an end to an ugly chapter in California politics that saw three state Democratic senators indicted in 2014. It also tarnishes what was a Calderon political dynasty in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

They don’t mention his party affiliation.

You’d have to guess he was a crooked Democrat...

Mark my words that if Donald Trump is elected President then he will eventually go to Prison for life unless he carefully ensures that he is always being above-board. I believe that any of you that may disagree with me on this are naiive. Up until now he has been a private citizen who doesn’t have official responsibilities. However once he takes office then he will be targeted 24/7 for everything he does, all the decisions he makes (such as appointments), and especially all the laws that must be executed. The Justice department is going to be kept super-busy having to go get court injunctions left/right to have stays put on all the laws/regulations he simply won’t have the resources to enforce. I can well imagine they’ll need to have some template put into place where they can get a court order specifying that the execution is on hold until Congress can provide sufficient appropriations via law of X dollars for FY18, Y dollars for FY19, Z dollars for FY20, and anything beyond that subject to Congressional redetermination. Then if Congress passes a law on 65% margins to fund it then he can still veto it anyway; though if they override him (after he gets on TV for an hour blasting them for being irrresponsible with taxpayer resources) then he’ll have to execute the law. Do you really think that all the special interests who own Congress are going to just roll over and play dead? Nope, that’s why he needs to have several very ethical/honest and Constitutionally-loyal lawyers carefully monitoring all that he does & he needs to trust them & never go around them.

has presented a “whimsical and revisionist view of his conduct”

What, you mean like with saying it was not his "intent", or something?
