Actress Lindsay Lohan is reportedly teaming up with German energy drink maker Mintanine to supply energy drinks to refugees displaced by the Syrian civil war. “This is all part of Lindsay’s mission to help refugees,” a source close to Lohan said, Page Six reports.
Last month, during a humanitarian visit, the Mean Girls star visited Syrian refugees at an Istanbul hospital and the home of a refugee family from Aleppo.
“There’s hardly food, water or anything” at the refugee camp, a source repeatedly said. “So at this point sending anything is helpful.” Lohan will reportedly have the energy drink delivered to refugee camps.
The Mintanine soft drink is already being sold at the 30-year-old star’s nightclub, in Athens, Greece, aptly named LOHAN Nightclub. She celebrated the grand opening of her nightclub over the weekend, posting several pictures to social media.
Mintanine, according to the manufacture’s website, is described as a “lifestyle drink.”
If you’re wondering about the potential health benefits or risks to those refugees lucky enough to taste Lohan’s generosity, Mintanine does “not use synthetic flavors or caffeine, no taurin, no aspartam, no inosit, but natural guarani,” the website says.
Lohan, for her part, has not shied away from the spotlight.
Last month, the actress’s lawsuit against video game maker Rockstar Games was thrown out. Lohan had claimed that her likeness was unlawfully used as a character in the latest Grand Theft Auto.
In August, Lohan demanded a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and nearly a million dollars to appear on the popular Russian talk show Let Them Talk.
Lohan is set to star in the forthcoming horror film, Shadow Within. The film follows a private investigator’s journey to solve the murder of her uncle, all while keeping secret that she’s a werewolf.
