"America Has Lost" - Duterte Announces "Separation" From United States, Alligns With China; (TR)

After the relentless barrage of verbal abuse and negative sentiment aimed at Barack Obama and the US, coupled with increasingly complimentary statements toward Beijing, it was only a matter of time before Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte put an end to the speculation if and when he would officially pivot the country's long-held diplomatic alliance away from the US and toward China. He did so today when, during a visit to China's capital, Duterte announced his "separation" from the United States, declaring he had realigned with China as the two agreed to resolve their South China Sea dispute through talks.

Duterte is currently in Beijing, where he is visiting with at least 200 business people to pave the way for what he calls a new commercial alliance as relations with longtime ally Washington deteriorate.

"In this venue, your honours, in this venue, I announce my separation from the United States," Duterte told Chinese and Philippine business people, to applause, at a forum in the Great Hall of the People attended by Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli. "Both in military, not maybe social, but economics also. America has lost."

Way to go Obama on foreign policy! Whatever it takes to alienate our allies and empower our enemies. And Hillary would love to continue your legacy.

If Hillary is elected the U.S. is a third world banana republic. We're at 2 3/4 banana republic now.

He could be waiting for Mr. Trump to get in.

You can’t blame him. Poor decision-making and policy caused all of this.

It sort of makes sense from his point of view. Since McArthur left and went to Japan, what have we really done for them? Their navy is basically non-existent while we sit on hundreds of mothballed ships we could sell or give to them, just as one example. I guess that “51st State” movement fizzled out today.

The move toward World War III is well advanced.

We are now like 1938, ignoring the menace around us. Russia, allied with China and Iran (soon), all nuclear powers, are set to wage war on three fronts - The Baltics, the South China Sea, and the Middle East, and there is nothing we can do about it but an eventual surrender to their hegemonies and demands.

Give credit to Obama - he has accomplished his promise - to fundamentally transform America - into a beaten fading nation. And it was done with the support of the American voters, cemented with the election of Hillary Clinton.

Wait till she realizes that the victorious Chinese and Russians will no longer have to bribe her with millions of contributions anymore.

I’m starting to wonder if Duterte is a Chinese operative. The good people of the Philippines will be speaking Chinese soon.

The good news is, we aren’t pissing off any more allies.

The bad news is, it’s because we don’t have any allies anymore.

If this leads to an agreement between China and the Philippines over the South China Sea, then it is a good thing and lessens the risk of WWIII. We don’t own Manila.

And to think that the Philippines were a U.S. territory for almost 50 years and, after independence, an ally. The nation is having its “Cuba” moment under Duterte.

“If this leads to an agreement between China and the Philippines over the South China Sea, then it is a good thing and lessens the risk of WWIII.”

Tell me that when China starts blocking access to the Japanese and Singapore where all of that commerce passes through. Were you not a product of American schools, you would have learned about Japan’s history in that area when they had their access blocked.

Lessens the risk of WW III? It almost guarantees it.

The only thing better than Hillary rotting in an American prison is her rotting in a Russian or Chinese one.
