The former major league pitcher has had political aspirations for some time

Curt Schilling, who pitched for parts of 20 seasons in the major leagues and won 216 career games, has announced his intention to run for U.S. Senate against Democrat Elizabeth Warren in Massachusetts. Here's what Schilling said on Tuesday:

Schilling, 49, self-identifies as a conservative, and has established himself as a controversial political gadfly since retiring from baseball in 2007. Schilling previously said he would run for president in 2020 or 2024.

As for Warren, 67, she's in her first term in the Senate. In 2012, she defeated Scott Brown with 53.7 percent of the vote and in doing so became the first woman from Massachusetts to serve in the U.S. Senate. Earlier this year, Warren registered a 61 percent approval rating.

I don’t have my finger on the pulse of Boston/Massachusetts sentiment. I do know that Fauxcohauntas is very popular with the white leftist cult that pervades the area. However, Schilling is a Bloody Sock legend. Not sure how this plays out.

He’s started his comeback with a Saturday morning talk show on Howie Carr’s syndicated radio network in New England.

They will make him out to be a neanderthal jock, and a horrible businessman.

Liz will win the women and the kids. Curt will win the Red Sox Nation.

It will be an uphill battle.

Now, if we could get Tom Brady to run...

Go ahead and take a few minutes and think about it. Sometimes humor takes a while to soak in to peoples’ heads.

Hint - it is not all about baseball.

Oh goody. The Red Sox vs. the Indians.

Uh, oh. You DID hear about the recent AL playoffs, I imagine.
