A 22-year-old man could spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair after he was shot in a Coney Island apartment building following a fight against another man, officials and heartbroken family members said.
Aliahsheen Robinson was shot on the 21st floor of the Sea Park building on W. 28th St. at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
The bullet went through his chin and entered his spine, his mother, Tina McCall, said as she prayed over her son at Lutheran Medical Center on Saturday.
“He can’t talk,” McCall said of Robinson, who has a 1-year-old daughter.
“He’s got (tubes) down his throat. He opened his eyes. His eyes move. His hands move a little bit ... ” she said before trailing off. “I just want justice and somebody to tell me why.”
Witnesses told police Robinson had just fought another man and won, but then someone from the loser’s crew came back with a gun and shot him.
The gunman remained at large Saturday.
Community advocate Tony Herbert said the attack is the latest in a string of shootings throughout the city that signals a rise in violent crime.
“Whoever put the memo out there that we have the toughest gun laws in this city, that message isn’t resonating with people on the street,” Herbert said.

Odd how some shootings make national news and others barely get local coverage.
My brother in law was shot and paralyzed by a stranger who police say was most likely planning a mass shooting at that location. It’s an incredible story yet very few outside of Hawk Springs, WY ever read about it.

We need to wake up to this type of action by gangsters. This is truly what Obamugabe called for...[paraphrase] they bring an ass-whoopin’, we bring a gun.
Watch for Obama to try to Federalize local police, before he is booted. That is part of the Democrat end game, taking Federal control over the States.
