NFL's 'Monday Night Football' Sets Record Low In Ratings For ESPN...

Surveying the ratings landscape for Monday Night Football and the NFL this season, you wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking it for the barren wasteland of the Mad Max movies rather than America’s most popular sport.

Back in early September, MNF posted its lowest numbers ever (8.3 rating) for a Week 2 game since ESPN acquired the rights in 2006. Then, going against the first presidential debate late last month, Monday Night Football set an all-time ratings low with barely 8 million total viewers. Now, last night’s matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers has scored MNF‘s lowest Week 5 ratings in ESPN history.

....with primetime ratings falling 14% in the coveted 18-49 demo during football, TV networks have been forced to give away more free commercial time as compensation.

The NFL is in full denial regarding their flagging ratings. They took a stand, unfortunately they stood with individuals making millions while decrying that the good ole’ USA is rotten to the core! Wow, how much do their analyst get paid?

Boycotting with my tv remote requires no effort nor cost on my part.

Over a decade ago, I used my tv remote to boycott ABCCNNBCBS, and Fox News and Free Republic became my source for news.

I pulled the plug on Faux news this January, when their whore, Megyn tried to put Trump’s head into a noose before he cancelled out of the phoney debate.

Now FR is my only source for news.

Donate to FR and boycott the NFL, Faux news, and ABCNNBCBS with your tv remote.

You will feel better and have a lot of free time by using your tv remote to “Just say no to liberal bs posing as news or a sporting event!”.

That game deserved that rating. Truly horrible game.

The NFL is self-destructing thanks to Commissioner Goodell, the owners, and those players kneeling or giving the Black Power salute during the National Anthem. If they want the “L” in NFL to stand for Leftists, they shouldn’t expect Mainstream America to support the NFL.

I’ve come “home” to baseball. Still the greatest game, ever.

Sometimes I think how cool it would be if baseball, only had a game a week like football. Every baseball game would be like a playoff game. Because nothing beats playoff baseball.

Dumping Hank Williams Jr was the first step and this is the final straw.

Pray America wakes

This is not a preach, but that game is the one to definitely SKIP. He started the disrespect and knows that it’s spreading to colleges and high schools. He also knows the ratings are going down, and to watch the game and give the network higher ratings is giving him relevancy. Just read about it after the game and hope he gets his bell rung/ 2 cents.

He was 2-for-22 in basketball. Helen Keller, Ray Charles & Stevie Wonder had better scores than that. LOL.

When MNF was on ABC I would see it as I clicked through the basic channels. But now that it’s on ESPN I don’t easily see it. You have to look for it to watch it. I think that is causing a lot of the loss of viewership.

I guess the NFL isn’t suffering yet. That will come when it’s time to renew the TV contract.

You're not preaching. Or maybe you're preaching to the choir because I agree with you.

However, I assumed since I'm not a Nielsen household, it won't matter. But I don't know for sure how they determine ratings these days.

Been boycotting mlb since the strike in ‘94................not that I hold a grudge or anything. :) Kinda hooked on the UFC now, most times theres more sportsmanship in one fight than I see in a whole football game and there is no season to wait for.

“The NFL is self-destructing”

This is why the NFL is losing fans:

Miami Dolphins pay over 27% of their annual salary costs to just 2 players, QB Tannehill and DT Suh. And what do the fans get for that huge investment:

Miami is 1-4
Miami is ranked 24th in passing yards
Miami gives up an average of 250 rushing yards per game
Suh has 2.5 sacks in 5 games
Miami is -7 in turnovers
In 5 games Miami has only one interception

The 2 players who were supposed to lead Miami into the playoffs have been busts. Tannehill can’t lead the offense with his poor play and Ndamukong Suh can’t lead the defense for the same reason.

Suh was supposed to be the wrecking ball on defense that would collapse the O-line and raise hell with opposing QB’s which would help the back end of the defense create turnovers. None of that has happened.

Tannehill still looks like a dear in the headlights and Suh can usually be seen walking around nowhere near the football.

I use to love watching the Dolphins...now I get mad when they are the Sunday Eastern game. The team is a waste of time.

Now look at the freak show that is the SF 49’s and that is your answer.

Sorry...Miami gives up an average of 150 rushing yards per game.

Miami ranks dead LAST in rushing defense!!
