That is normal language to refer to a just named party as "them" in the next sentence.

I've been going from happy about how Priebus seems to have stepped up to pissed when some of the rumors come out. In the balance, he is doing much better than most of us could have hoped/expected.

Trump is going after Ryan hard on twitter this morning. He obviously believes he’s behind the release of the tape. Why does any thread about it get closed?

They are only covering their butts here as they see their influence with the voters evaporating at an alarming rate.

Probably so. It is the Bush/Romney part of the GOP that is causing all the problems. That faction is being lead by Paul Ryan. At least McConnell is keeping is mouth shut.

He still has his finger in the air, trying to decide which way the wind is going to be blow. Typical McConnell: shrewd, but somewhat unseemly.

It’s a question of do you want your party in the WH or the dems? And who is elected also influences the down ballot vote.

I get a new US Rep this year, as mine is retiring after just 2 terms. I have 2 choices the GOP or the dem. No other candidate came close enough to do a write in. And there is no way I’m voting for some unknown dem. David Kustoff was at least the GOP party state party head for a while, fairly conservative and effective as a party leader. He has made no statements that I know of.
