Even before The Washington Post reported on a 2005 recording of Donald Trump making crude comments about exploiting his celebrity to sexually assault women, Hillary Clinton's campaign was on the upswing. Her strong performance in the first presidential debate had pushed her national polling numbers up fairly quickly. Not as quickly as after the party conventions, mind you, but even before a new NBC-Wall Street Journal poll released on Monday, she led by about five points.
Then the new poll came out. As always, one poll could be an outlier. This poll has a relatively high margin of error of about 4.6 percent. It's always worth being cautious until more polls come in. But with all of those asterisks applied, the results of the poll are dramatic.
Clinton leads Trump in a four-way contest by 11 points with likely voters. In a one-on-one race, she leads by 14. That's up from their last polls by five and seven points, respectively.

I expect the MSM will try to drop the second debate into the memory hole, like they dropped videos and personal stories of 9-11 into the memory hole.
If Trump can keep it alive until he buries her in the next debate, great. If not, they will (a) not mention it and not show any video of it, and (b) bury it with the help of more dirt leaked by the GOPe and Hillary.
The MSM is in all-out coordinated battle to prevent a Trump presidency. They are working hand in hand with the Hillary campaign, with the Obama administration, and with numerous high-net-worth individuals, both foreign and domestic, to crush him.
If these efforts should fail, I wouldn't be surprised to see them take some sort of executive action against him.

That is an IMPOSSIBILITY given EVERY Dem would have had to approve including 10% of Republicans for FUBARing EVERYTHING.
No serious person takes the poll seriously. They have had Clinton up by ridiculous margins all the way.

No doubt that tape did some damage, and that Trump's lackluster performance in the first debate did not help (contrary to some of the posters here who believed he "looked Presidential"). But any poll that is post-tape and pre-debate is worthless.

The Post has an agenda, plus they want to see news created as a result of their recording hit piece. Trump is far from done in. It definitely won’t be a cakewalk from here to victory but I am confident that he’ll pull it off. It will help if people stick with him, don’t let real-life pasts, gotcha hits, and other BS undermine their support.
