Republican Claudia Tenney is leading in the race to replace outgoing GOP Rep. Richard Hanna in New York's 22nd Congressional District, according to a new poll.

Tenney, a state assemblywoman, had the support of 35 percent of likely voters in the Time Warner Cable News/Siena College poll, ahead of Democrat Kim Myers, the daughter of the founder of Dick's Sporting Goods, who drew 30 percent. Upstate Jobs Party candidate Martin Babinec trailed with 24 percent.

The poll also found voters displaying a mix of political views. For example, 63 percent of those polled said they were backers of the Second Amendment rather than gun control supporters, and 54 percent want the 2010 health care law repealed.

But 65 percent of voters called climate change a "real, significant threat" and 55 percent favored a path to citizenship for immigrants in the U.S. illegally, according to the poll.

In the presidential race, the GOP's Donald Trump led Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by 11 points in the district, 46 percent to 35 percent. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson took 5 percent ahead of the Green Party's Jill Stein with 4 percent.

Good news in upstate New York. Contribute to Tenney’s campaign if possible, as the Democrat running against her is an heiress.

Opened them both. Decision is made. Under a different forum the Democrat would be GUILTY!

Claudia will win. Our current Congressman, Richard Hanna, is endorsing Hillary the Evil. We want no part of this crap anymore. I have been friends with Tim Myers for years, a really good guy, but this is too important. Fancy Nancy Pee-losee is putting big bucks into this race, not making any difference.

Richard Hanna, IIRC, is the RINO who hates Trump.

Glad to see him leave.

Here in the 19th District of NYS, we are being inundated with ads from

Zephyr Teachout

Born in the State of Washington, raised in Vermont. In March 2015, Teachout moved from Brooklyn to Dutchess County, in New York's 19th congressional district. Ten months later she announced her candidacy in that district's June 2016 Democratic Congressional primary.[22] Teachout is running to replace Republican Chris Gibson, who is retiring. In the June 28 primary, Teachout won the Democratic nomination. She was endorsed by Bernie Sanders,[23][24] Senator Kirsten Gillibrand,[25] Senator Chuck Schumer,[26] Governor Andrew Cuomo, Sierra Club,[27] the National Education Association,[28] New York State United Teachers,[29] National Nurses United,[30] the Communication Workers of America,[31] and EMILY's List.[32] She will face Republican John Faso in the November 8 general elections.

Teachout has called for a higher minimum wage, a rollback of tax cuts, increased spending on public infrastructure, a ban on fracking, returning the right to vote to convicted felons, granting driver’s licenses and tuition assistance to undocumented immigrants, public financing of elections, higher wages for the Hudson Valley,[34][not in citation given] property tax cuts,[35] increased investment in rural infrastructure,[35] and an end to Common Core and high-stakes testing.

So far, John Faso continues to lead in the polls, but by a small margin. VOTE!

Dick’s stopped selling semiautomatic firearms in 2012. Dick’s inventory of firearms was drastically reduced and many mainstay items came off the shelves.

Dick’s sales had dropped 2.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012. Elsewhere gun sales surpassed all expectations, even as retailers in other sectors experienced disappointing performance.

There have been other complaints against Dick’s gun-sales policy. In March, a man, after presenting his firearms owners identification card to buy some .308 cartridges, was asked a series of questions at the Dick’s in Niles, Illinois. These included his date of birth and FOID card number, along with a scan of his card. The man declined to answer and walked out of the store without making the purchase.

“This is nothing short of an invasion of privacy and discrimination against law-abiding Illinois gun owners,” blogger Eric Reed wrote in his post on the incident.

Dick’s announced in 2013 that it will be opening a spin-off store called Field & Stream that will sell a variety of outdoor goods including a full range of guns.

Hypocrites.

Hillary running quite poorly in the district. Good sign.

Is this third party jagoff taking more votes from Tenney or the rats?

“”Good news in upstate New York. Contribute to Tenney’s campaign if possible, as the Democrat running against her is an heiress.”

That’s right, I do remember you saying Claudia Tenney’s Dem opponent was daughter of Dick’s Sporting Goods, so yes, Claudia needs all the help she can get!

I do hope Claudia Tenney wins, as she is not only a strong pro-life conservative, but she is a FIGHTER! We don’t get too many of those.

Just want to add that Teachout also supported the Iran nuke deal. As the pro-John Faso ad said, she is DANGEROUS.

ABSOLUTELY.

I know I’m getting WAY ahead of myself, but I’d like Claudia Tenney to have Paul Ryan’s job. Saying this because of her spectacular performance as assemblywoman. She’s not afraid to take on top Dem leaders, she’s pro-life and introduced pro-life legislation, etc.. Sean Hannity endorsed her and said something to the effect that someone like her only comes around once in awhile.

Myers is running nasty ads against Tenney saying that she missed a lot of votes but all she is doing is massively augmenting Tenney’s name recognition. I never heard of her til I saw the ads.
