My question though, is, how do we get them to pay up?

If something were to happen to this woman and her child would the lawsuit be thrown out or would it keep going?

Pay up? :-). This was one of those easy feel good votes for Congress that will just result in a bunch of lawyers making money. I doubt this bill will have much practical effect.

I have reservations about this. The families suffered great loss but as far as I understand they were generously compensated as a result. My little community raised $15,000.00 and had the gire department deliver it to NYC. Lawyer paydays as I see it.

I have mixed thoughts about this...not so sure there won’t be other nations suing the US after this...what’s to stop them? Even if there’s no grounds to do so doesn’t mean they won’t try.

Russia came out strongly against this, probably thinking about the MH17 shootdown.

I still find it odd and suspicious they over rode O’s veto.

They did nothing on Obamacare which is crap and now O just gave away the internet and the congress couldn’t be bothered.

What was it that made them veto this? Was it work for all their attorney friends?

Agreed on the not much praticle effect. I’m just happy Congress finally found the stones to overturn one of Barry’s vetos. Even if it is just for show in an election year.

if they don’t pay the judgment you find property that they have and put a lien on it. eventually the property is sold to pay the judgment.

Each family received a little over $2 million tax-free from the government. Plus they received donations from businesses, charity events, and individuals.

If the Saudis' lose in court, and they won't pay up, perhaps liens can be placed on their assets in the U.S....???

Perhaps a freeper attorney can comment on this.

The question is how to you prove the government of Saudi Arabia complicit with those terrorists so that they have financial culpability?

Personally, I think they have culpability, but proving it is a different thing.
