Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore has been suspended from the bench for telling probate judges to defy federal orders regarding gay marriage.

The Alabama Court of the Judiciary (COJ) issued the order Friday suspending Moore from the bench for the remainder of his term.

"For these violations, Chief Justice Moore is hereby suspended from office without pay for the remainder of his term. This suspension is effective immediately," the order stated.

The court found him guilty of all six charges of violation of canon of judicial ethics. Moore's term is to end in 2019. Gov. Robert Bentley will name a replacement for Moore.

That’s true. I will say that Massachusetts is not Alabama though. I’m not sure if that’s where you were headed with your comments (Judges haven’t been punished before?).

Californians got sick of their chief Justice Rose Bird in 1986 and kicked her and two other justices to the curb.

She had reviewed 64 capital cases referred by lower courts. She voted to overturn all 64 capital case verdicts calling for the death penalty. Three other justices had voted 61 times to overturn. Two of them were removed on the same election day, November 4th, 1986.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Bird

We have had 13 executions since 1978. They started back up in 1992.

http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Capital_Punishment/Inmates_Executed.html

California currently has 743 people on death row. The likelihood of them being executed is extremely low. Their victims will not be avenged, the families will not see justice served.

January 21, 2017 President Trump could appoint him the to United States Supreme Court

******************

Could, but I doubt it as Judge Moore will be less than a month shy of his 70th birthdate.
I doubt he’ll be considered but may well be asked for his input on potential nominees.

My gut sense is that it has to begin with a new wave of successful evangelism. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, perhaps paralleled with a movement in Judaica to be more serious about the Old Testament.

And even if it works, we would have to realize that it depends a lot on what will be deemed to be religion in the future.

Which kind of suggests that to sit and gnash teeth at the situation is pointless.

Trump has composed a “pretty nice” list as it is, which “could” result in a back door moderation, if not outright abolition, of the sex-blind marriage concept.

Face it, the multiple married Trump, with whom many Christian denominations would disagree with the rightness of his current marital situation, is not in a position to wax rhapsodic and win broad Christian acceptance about the virtues of most holy matrimony. And to the credit of his wisdom, he isn’t trying to do that either. If he can not do good, at least he chooses to do no harm.

The court found him guilty of all six charges of violation of canon of judicial ethics.

But Comey, the AGs, ZERO, C. Mills, and The Hag are "ethical."

Why doesn't Moore find someone to give him Immunitah?

I don’t agree with the mechanism, but I agree with your underlying logic.

"Justice Moore needs not to worry, as on January 21, 2017 President Trump could appoint him the to United States Supreme Court."

Excellent observation !

Wish I could disagree, but the chances of reversing this are about zero.

Still, in our past are many instances of the people prevailing

It remains to be seen how Alabam inhabitants will react to this.

It cold turn into a bell-weather event.

“The court found him guilty of all six charges of violation of canon of judicial ethics.”

With regards to Sodomy, judicial ethics do not trump ethics.

Thank you honorable Chief Justice Moore, for not yielding God’s laws to any others.

You shall thus prevail!

Until sincere worship returns, the “power” won’t be there. There will be protest movements, but their participation in the body politic will remain in the minority.

“Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which filed the original complaint against Moore ..”

Don’t be fooled by the suggestion that it was the communist SPLC that forced Moore out. This was initiated by homosexuals in the Obama regime. They had the full force of the feral government pushing his ouster.

The tide WILL turn. The communist and degenerates that currently hold power will not have it forever. They will soon lose, and then the payback can begin.

Yup. Taking it to the extreme, the Nazi judges had their judicial ethics too.

No law requires sodomy or any other act of sex in order to validate any of these new sex-blind marriage.

Some use it for that, just like some used more traditional appearing marriages for swinging... but neither are required by law.

Yes, repent and believe... on Christ not on some iron-and-clay amalgam which won’t even work. Caesar can call anything marriage he jolly pleases — it’s up to the church to do it right.

Even if he were 50, Judge Moore could not obtain Senate confirmation for any appointment.

He can’t be. Alabama law forbids people 70 or older from being elected or appointed to a court bench. He’ll be too old.
