That will teach Donald Trump to play Mr. Nice Guy.

He could have put Hillary Clinton away during their feisty television debate Monday night, but he failed to do so. So what could have been a knockout for him ended in a draw, because she could not put Trump away either.

But she needed a knockout more than he did. All he had to do was show up and survive, which he did.

Mr. Nasty played Mr. Nice, and it cost him the knockout, though. Hillary Clinton lives to fight another day, and there are still two more debates on the calenda

Mr. Lucas truly is an idiot with no understanding of the long game. Trump is staying true to his strategy, and Lucas joins a long line of pundits that have never read the Art of the Deal.

Agreed. His strategy in the first debate was to show everybody he wasn't some loon.

Now he can go after Hillary.

'Mr. Nice Guy' wasn't going to win this 2-on-1 debate

That depends on how the debate is graded.

Most voters looked at the debate to see if, as Hillary claims, Trump is or is not a misogynistic bully, raving lunatic, un-Presidential.

Most concluded that Hillary had lied again.

Advantage...Trump.

“He could have put Hillary Clinton away during their feisty television debate Monday night”

Best that he use all three debates for several reasons.

Hillary (supposedly) won the debate. Trump won the voters.

Simple as that.

I agree with you on that.

A debate strategy that is aimed at meeting the criteria of your own supporters isn't going to do anything to win an election.

It's not even really a debate, anyway. Another astute Freeper pointed out that it's a 90-minute press conference where both candidates are facing the media together.

I agree. If that LA Times poll is to be believed, how could argue that his approach was wrong? I’ve come to Trust in Trump on these things. He has consistently done things his way and come out on top.

Hillary acted like an adolescent casting idiotic and and nasty aspersions and smirking and smiling sophmorically mainly in support of personal attacks. She looked like the MSM supported stuck in the 90’s ass she is.

Donald knows that he is doing. Going for the “knockout” was exactly what they wanted him to do. They already had their stories written about how nasty, vulgar, aggressive, belligerent , and bullying he was to a lady that was obviously ill. He adroitly avoided that trap.

Amen! Let Donald be Mr. Nice Guy and let the World see what a nasty bitch Hillary is. She is universally hated. Reinforce that.

For all his flaws, his recent background in the television business surely taught him a lot of things. He knows better than anyone that a TV audience isn’t really tuning in to see an actual “debate.”

Exactly right...they had the Miss Venezuela story all queued up to reinforce and bolster that line of attack. That story was forced to stand on it's own where it looks just stupid.
